Since owning my 1991 TT back in 2001, I've gone on a motoring journey, culminating in a Ferrari F355 which I've just sold.

I'll be spending the majority of the money from the F355 on sensible 'house' stuff and investments etc, but I've just bought my missus a Clio and have budgeted £3000 to get myself a little toy.

Question is, can I get a decent TT for less than £3000. I'm looking for something very well maintained as the main thing is to not have to keep forking out...

Am I likely to find what I'm looking for? ie. if not I'll go for something 'sensible'

yes but youl have to look about, but not too hard. it depends on your decent.

If you talking about a car with full service history, stock with no faults and not blemishes, or a fully tuned car with known history and a doting owner then I would say NO.

If you after something thats 15 years old and has been looked after, then yes

If you keep your eyes peeled you can, seen some advertised on here vastly undervalued for a 'quick sale'

I may be selling..and i say maybe..im not too sure yet..depends on my job.

Mines a Black '90 TT Auto T-Bar 2+2, im the second owner (first was in Japan since new)

45K KILOMETRES and totally stock. Apart from the stereo, wish i changed because it had the original tape deck in it!!! I've had it since Feb this year, since i've had it its had 2 oil and filter and coolant changes (both at specialists) and next week its booked in for a major service and will be having the MOT done as its up at the end of the month.

Id say the only faults are the speakers in which only the front passenger one works, i have bought new ones but never got round to fitting. few body work marks (nothing bad just the usual ) but hey it is 16 years old...oh and i am a doting owner, wash and wax every couple of weeks etc. I really , really dont want to get rid of it but i may have to - id be looking for around the 3500 mark if i did sell.

let me know if you want anymore details.

Ed

When I got mine I paid 3200 for it, not perfect bodywise but no rust and all intact, I was abit impetuouse (spelling) but was lucky in the fact that the only work that has been done to it is what I want to do.

If you look around and take your time you can pick them up at around that price.

Good luck

You're likely to get an Auto TT for £3k. But you're almost going to be scraping the barrel for a TT manual, although some do go as low as that and sometimes lower. But generally, reasonable Manual TTs go for £3.5k and then for a good one, you're looking at about £4 - £4.5k. £5k upwards should see you a very nice manual TT.

So I'd suggest that buying a tidy well maintained one for under £3k unless it's an auto, may not be something all that simple. Even good Autos will fetch more than £3k.

Managed to get my UK TT Manual, high mileage but vgc, with loads of decent mods for £3400 delivered. They are out there, just have to be at right place, right time.

i wouldn't sell my h reg uk auto tt for less than 4k.

its in great condition apart from crack in front bumper.

everybody seems to under value these cars
