I am gonna buy some spray on tint for me rear light's, anyone done this ?

Any advice on spraying procedure, i.e. should I remove the clusters, spraying technique, finishing off etc. Also, what do you reseal the clusters with if you do remove them.

Reckon you could get it off,but very carefully!!-could melt the clusters

As for applying it mate, just go with the instructions ;)

Im with Daz on this. Dont! :smash:

We got enough chavs around this way aleady! :D

Bin the rear panel and put round ones in they look much better make the car look much more up to date "well I think they do anyways" :)

It's just ?????? ATM but yeah 99

If used right with laquer etc it can give an almost good finish but i've found in my experience it's pretty naff and a begger to get off without ruining the plastic underneath

do a search bud, i have done this to mine and i love it.. only advice is polish them with a gd quality polish before you refit em. makes all the difference

No offence, but they don't look very good in my opinion, infact when you are following him you can hardly see his lights! Don't do it.

I've always thought the large rear lights, especially in 99-spec format look futuristic. Fitting anything else is like going backwards.

...to add, I quite like tinted standard lights. But I think the only colour it works well on are black ones. If anyone's seen T-Pots car, they'll know what I mean. Looks fantastic.

Yeah love t-pots car, one of my favourite black zed's with micky b's being the other one

T-Pot#s is deffinately my favourite black Zed at the moment...oh, tell ya what, RainbowZed has tinted rear lights and they look neat on that, but that's because he's gone for a black/silver colour scheme and it all compliments everything.

i did mine with spray and im quite pleased with it. You do have to do it in many very thin layers to prevent it from running as the laquer is watery but about 8 thin coats and 20miin of polishing once its totally dry and it looks awsome.

when have you ever followed me??????

and they are fine since i upgraded the bulbs..

well the mot man said they were ok so.. :mac1:

never even met you bud so how come?

I was not commenting with regards to your lights. I tried to quote Hellraisers comment about Scottys lights, but it has not quoted it!

Chill out man.

oh pmsl... thought i had a stalker for a minute...

i am chilled dude, anymore and i would be sub-zero ;)

Hey peeps,

Just thought I'd add that i did my tints a slightly differnt way. A few years back when i had a blue one i tried this and it made a big difference, but like some of the guys have said i think it only works on the darker colours.

I mixed 15% paint with 15% laquer and the rest tint (had to completely destroy a pressurised cannister - NOT ADVISABLE- to do it, but it worked well) When the lights are off they're all blakc but in sunlight you can just make out the 300zx in the middle, if you tint them til u can't see that, you can't see your lights either!

After that i spent about 4 hours t-cutting them to match the standard (SHITE) nissan paint job! Look at my ride to see how it went! I must admit i'm not a tinted light lover but on a black one i think it look sbetter than the four round light thing. Maybe i'll change them in a couple o years and see!

happy tinting!

Rich

PS I apologos for spelling mistakes but i' dying of cold and my specs are in the bedroom!!

ciao

Hello Speedfreak. What bulbs did you upgrade to. I am going to do this but am worried about anyone being able to see my lights through the tints.
