just a query more than anything. How many uk zed's are there left...Do most of the members on the forum have a jap import? The reason I ask is my own uk zed was literally saved from the scrap heap, with the amount of rust on the car, it should have been scrapped, but thats another story. So another uk zed was saved...

mine uk as already said just had all the rot done 1 new rear wheel arch and seal both on drivers side.

uk cars have better under seal protection than imports anyway its only the better climate overthere that stops the rot

Mines a 95 Jap Import, not a spec of rust ,no body imperfections, but no turbos

is it generally regarded that jap spec zeds are of better conditon? , but mint condition uk zeds are more desirable? all things being equal of course. Its amazing for a car that was released at a 30k or so price tag and not have any sort of rust proofing etc. I had seen a supra the other day ( at a local meet ) , it was a 94 and was in immaculate condition to the zed beside it.

To be fair Toyota's overall build quality way exceeds Nissans from my experience.

1990 jap. N/A, not exactly rust free, but pretty clean for her age!!!

2x Jspec here.

Z32's do not suffer from rust any worse than any other car out there in the UK.

not true, they have the same under seal protection.

Mines import - the other halfs got a UK one

You & Paul have 3 zed's anna....2 Jspecs, and 1 rotten UK.

not from what i understand they dont, but i could be wrong

1992 Uk, only 2 other owners. With the spoiler a bit soft now lol

They all have the same underseal protection. UK zeds just suffer badly because UK roads are salted. Japanese roads are not. Local authorities over there spray ground volcanic ash on roads that suffer from Ice.

Also adding to the fact that UK cars have twice the mileage on average than JDM zeds.

For the 300zx they have the same underseal protection, although thats not the case for some other import cars.

Yes they do, but it tends to be far more motorway milage and a lot less stop start and sitting in traffic jams. Which is why UK engines and gear boxes last longer.

Mines a Nov 1994 UK car. Slight blister on O/S rear arch and rusty Battery tray. Everywhere else seem fine. Rear arch will be cut off this winter to recieve my Explosion Arches and battery tray is to be removed as Battery will be in boot.

Plenty of stone chips though.

I have a rust free jap tt - and its getting another coat of underseal this week!

Club database, so far is as follows

Japan Import: 341

UK model : 109

certainly, quite interesting reading steve, as the club database would indicate that roughly there are 3 japanese imports to every uk based ZED...I wonder if this was run in say 2 or 3 years what sort of proportion would it be....

When I bought my Z in 99 they were a rare car as they only officially sold £1500 UK Zeds Which ment yhat the values kept really high.

I read an insurance survey on all Jspec imports 2 years ago. It listed all Jspec cars imported. Including some Yank iron that is sold in RHD over there.

It listed over 5000 Jspec Z's insured in UK. Thats more than 3 x then official number ever sold.

1500 uk zeds...hmmm..how many are still around..maybe half that amount?!? Would have thought that may incourage an increase in their value for the really good cars that are left..
