Still on a search for my 300zx.

There is one quite close to me for sale, not been to see it yet its advertised as a Nissan 300zx Fairlady Targa, non turbo manual. it has 62k on the clock they are asking £3995

My question is any idea what sort of power this will be producing, and what sort of 0-60 time?

Im not to bothered about it being non turbo as this will be my first RWD car, and i guess i could turbo it in future if i wanted, but its mostly the specs id like to know if anyone has them?

Really? thats quite disapointing if so, i currently have a Celica GT 0-60 is 7.9 for just a 2.0ltr

If power and speed are an imprtant factor I would get a twin turbo, to make an NA into a TT is not as simple as you might think.

As its your first rwd, either buy an NA to get use to it then sell up for a TT or buy a TT and dont put your foot down too hard for a while.

do the decent thing and upgrade to the gt4.. you know it makes sense

But its still only a Celica :D thats the snob inside me talking :D

funny that, i went the other way.. be boring if we were all the same though eh?

i prefer the look of a ZX tho, always have, thing is insurance will be a killer for me on a TT tho as im 24 with 3 points and 1 claim, all this year (got a bit unlucky)

If somone could come up with official specs for the N/A 300zx fairlady would be gratefull tho

I couldnt agree with you more on the looks bud, not sure on the official specs but if you see one in the Ipswich area your interested in I am more than happy to go with you to view and give you my opinion.

N/A 222 bhp @ 6,400rpm, torque 198lb/ft @4,800

7.4 seconds 0-60

I did a little search of the forum on your behalf and these are the official figures quoted.

Cheers for that m8, not to bad, quite shocked its not in the 6's tho with a 3.0ltr V6

Four grand for a '93 seems a high price. You can get a really good A1 '95 for that money.

I think you will find that there is no differance insuring a n/a to a tt ,one of those strange things about insurance,so financially no differance, also fuel consumption are almost the same around the 20mpg mark infact i get better mpg uot of my tt on the motorway than i did from my n/a,performance wise no comparison,tt will slaughter an n/a,mildly tuned under 5's.so get the TT and save yourself time and money later as converting an n/a to a TT is not a viable option.

my first RWD car was a TT

as long as you respect the car then you will be fine, people who dont fear these cars are asking for trouble IMO, they car kill you if you lose it. Take you time and you will be fine :)

well for an import N/A insurance is looking around £1600 and an import TT is getting on for 3k

Maybe im looking at the wrong insurance companys?

Have you tried CIS? I know a few years ago they were the cheapest and I always used them for my Isuzu and Toyota trucks and I was in my early twenties. I know a zx is a bit different.........

For insurance I've found Bell.co.uk to be pretty competitive for my 92 N/A.

Is the N/A you're looking at the one at WCS? If so, they're pretty genuine people. Go take a look and a drive, they are always happy to show off the condition of their cars.

That's where I got my N/A from earlier in the year (came with history, manual, service book etc - the works). They don't specialise in Z's but they're no stranger to them either.
