Hi All
I am relocating to Spain in three weeks and have stumbled upon a huge fooking problem.
I started to take my Plenum apart to put a new one on and replace the hoses in the engine bay. The plenum is stripped down (but still not off as it has a few awkward bolts left) and all the hoses in the bay have been removed.
Disaster has struck in the form of my other half who has now insisted that unless my Zed is a running car in the next few weeks, I will have to sell her on flea bay for peanuts. I do see her point as the storage costs are too much to warrant stroring a non running car :hurl:
As time is a major issue, I have abandaned taking the plenum off and tried on several occasions just to put the engine back together and start her up. I just can not do it, my mechanical knowlegde has proved to be crap and I think the stress of moving is making it worse
I have contacted the garages in the area and all the mobile mechanics but all have turned down the job or I have turned them down as they are far too pants to work on a Zed :nono:
I know it is a very common DIY job for Zed owners to do, but I am in serious trouble. Would anyone be able to tell me the best place to buy the replacment fuel hoses and other engine hoses from. I think it is Smithy for the fuel, and I was going to get Samco, but have heard horror stories about them
Finally, I have thrown in the oil rag so to speak and admitted defeat on putting the Plenum back together. It looks like the end for me and my Zed............................................... :hurl:
Is there anyone in the County Durham area that could come out and put on the new hoses and the plenum back together?? If so you will be keeping a Zed enthusiast with his pride and joy and I am more than happy to pay a very good price for your time.
Thanks for reading this sob story and I hope someone can help ;)
Best Wishes Guys
