Renault just use it. I've been reading an argument on the US 300ZX forum about it and I always thought it was a Renault sourced engine.

Apparently not, it's a Nissan sourced unit.

I'm always reading conflicting reports. Need some hard supported facts if anyone knows of any.

Renault own some of Nissan so techincally the engine is part Renault no matter who designed/built it.

Both the md's at work have just bought brand new 350's

new model apparantly 300 odd bhp!

The guy in the dearlership assured them it wasn't a renault

engine in them.

A whole new engine developed by nissan.....apparantly.

I work for Nissan at the Sunderland plant.

I can 100% guarrantee that the 350 engine is an all Nissan engine. It was absolutley nothing to do with Renault. It is used in the 350Z, the Murano and that shitty Renault Vel Satis or whatever you called it. They used the Nissan engine for their car. It was developed at Nissan Technology Centre in Yokohama and is manufactured at their Tochigi plant. FACT
