Looks like the Zed is going to have a full blow over. Got the car back yesterday. Bodyshop's done a fantastic job, but unfortunately, the pearl white paint is so old on mine, a decent match couldn't be achieved. The tailgate was a reasonable match, I guess it looks like my car's had some previous blow in work anyway and the paint on the top appears to match very well.

It looked spot on under fluorescent lighting which is odd as it's usually the other way round.

I considered having it blown in, but the paint on my car has discoloured quite a bit and want a nice crisp fresh look all over. The fresh pearl white is an absolutely lovely colour and far nicer than the old faided paint on mine. It’s such a shame that it needs doing as mine is in lovely condition. I’m confident with the bodyshop anyway, so that’s not an issue. The tailgate looks superb and the spoiler looks great on it.

I kinda resided to that fact last night and just gotta find some money for it all now! LOL

By the way, smoothed bumpers is the way to go. Such a nice and fresh appearance. I recommend it totally.

Anyway, not going to put up photos until the lot's been done.

Mmmmmmm, dunno. Would rather you see it when it's as good as I can get it. You know how picky I am. I might get a pic of the bumper later though. I'm waiting on the pin stripe too.

I am so happy I went for the 99-spec rear. Looks amazing and dunno why I hesitated so much.

Fitting my new perspex (with brakelight) rear later as well. So should smarten up the rear. Have new decals for it as well.

well there's 2 sides to that, si. its a pain having to get it done but at the same time its going to look the absolute mutts imo. i like the type of mods you're doing (nothing OTT, just subtle but effective). i love it when someone who doesnt really know the cars looks and says to themselves "its different but i dont know why". makes it look like the factory built it like that and to me that adds a touch of class.

well impressed. now show us the pics you tight get.

lol

si.

LOL! I'll take some vague pics maybe tonight. Don't want to do a photoshoot until the car's finished totally. I've still got the skinny JDM wheels on it as well, so it's not as flattering at the back as it could be.

Glad you like what I'm doing. Other than a dust over, this is all the work I'm going to do to the body. I've got it almost how I like it. Just the last few bits. Suspension upgrade is going to have to wait until the spring and I've put the whole thought of a retrim out of my mind! LOL

...there is one other thing I am going to do to the body, but not in a hurry to do it and that's have the roof pillars sprayed gloss black.

have the roof pillars sprayed gloss black.

you mean the ones that go across the roof?

Yes.....

I have been told that modern paints being water based don't match the original colours of older cars so you wouldn't get a perfect match anyway, maybe the bodyshop should have told you this.

Am I wrong

Maybe this is why so many cars that have had touch ups look patchy, like mine, and it might be more benificial to do a complete respray. Surely it wouldn't cast much more to do a complete job while its in there.

Well with the paint in good condition, we thought a near faultless match might have been successful. I've seen another pearl white which had some work done to it and it was great. Guess the paint on mine was that much older although didn't look it.

Was always going to look at either blow in work or full respray. Since they're busy at the moment, I took it home. Stripping parts of it and taking it back in 2 weeks time.

It's time for that Veilside kit and shocking pink respray you've always wanted :D

I'd sooner break it! LOL

I'd sooner cut of my dick with a rusty break knife rather than spray it pink!

Sorry to hear abot the potential expense. At least it'll look great when it's done.

(and I'm not one to say 'I told you so' but ummm... I did say they'd never get the match right)

I'd sooner break it! LOL

Hey I guess it was worth a try at least.

Not another bad day! LOL

Anyway, yeah it was worth a try as I've seen it done before and a pearl white had some good blow in work. I just want the car to look totally fresh. So just gonna bite the bullet. Shame as there were other things I needed to get done to it, but can't stand looking at it when it's not quite right.

Flying Gallardo

Things are different from the UK and Dubia.

On roads which people speed in the UK, they install speed camera, put in those chicains or even speed bumps. However they are sign posted and because they take so long to install them we all see the new "Traffic Calming" deviced being made.

Not in Dubia, they just install a huge speed bump without telling any one to catch people off gaurd. Watch! Especially the Gallardo at the end which takes off.

Dubia?
