Is there a list somewhere of who's banned and why? It seems fairly easy to get banned these days and I'd like to avoid making the same mistakes, ideally... :x:

I have personally relied on Chunk for over 30 years and I can safely say he's second to none, both in terms of quality and value for money. ;)

I stand with the fact the people who hated us posting "crap" got their way and a separate sub forum was created for all members to post on topics other than 300zx.

Now in my mind they won so stop moaning. You got your way, we're abiding by that and yet you're still moaning.

Just don't look if you have a problem with what we talk about.

not sure if this is aimed at what i posted but my point was:

i guess you really cant keep all of the people happy all of the time!

seems true!

personally I couldnt give a toss what gets posted, it doesnt bother me or offend me. what i was trying to point out was that not everyone thinks the same - thats fine by me! just dont get offensive! there are some instances when things get taken too far & things get nasty. then the mods step in & some people get the hump over it. seen it loads of times!

why let it get to that stage?? :wack:

Ok, BUT while we accept that members sometimes go to far, it seems no one is willing to accept that mods and committee also make the same mistake.

the only difference is that when a member is wrong, not a lot happens other than they get a ban, but if a mod or higher are wrong, they make the ban.

what we need to know is the old age question, who watches the committee to make sure its not them stepping out of line?

this comment is a general one, and not in relation to any one ban impossed by them

yes i post utter random 5hite sorry lol

the club is based on a car, we all make friends and come here for that 1 connection,

thats not to say, that once we make friends, and find we ave other shared interests and hobbies we cant discuss or chat about them.

when we meet in real life, we do not only chat about the car, so a forum should be no different imho

im not saying that bud, hell we even met up in Ibiza for a drink & a chat, that would never have happened if it wasnt for this club! that side of things is what this place is about IMO.

just really, things do go too far at times. members dont even see what its about as posts get deleted or moved to storage when things to get silly.

i just really think its a shame it gets that far :(

I wasnt having a go at you Paul, i actually think your a good guy.

and yep we did meet in ibiza, but you shot off after some skirt if i recall lol

Are you suggesting we have another team of members (a Super Committee) to watch over the committee. If so, who is going to watch over them, or do we form another group called the Superior Super Committee to watch over the Super Committee. :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal Where do you suggest we stop?

This club is moderated by the forum committee and moderators. 99.9% of the time, everything runs very smoothly, with no major issues. It's always the same small group of members who are determined to cause bad feeling within this club.

A section from the club's AUP:

The Acceptable Use Policy applies to every user of this Forum. Please observe the rules and guidelines when using this Forum. Failure to abide by the policy will result in a Warning from the Moderators.

An example of when a member may recieve a warning from a moderator:

Flagrant disregard for the interests of the community (anti community spirit)

Clearly, there has been far too much of this anti community spirit recently.

Something we need to rectify.

What i am suggesting Steve is the ability to understand that just because someone has a committee badge, does not mean that every choice they make, is the correct one, or indeed warranted.

I have NEVER NEVER seen a moderator be banned or have a wrist slapped, DESPITE the fact, that on many occasions, they would have been had they been a member.

The trouble is see, when you are at the top of board, you can do nothing but look down on others.......

and that is clearly an issue for this club.

If you have issues with the club committee or the way in which this forum is moderated, then you need to raise the issues with the committee, via PM or email and not in an open forum. I refuse to get into a debate with you about this Martin, we've been here before. You know this is not to correct way to raise issues with the committee.

Steve

This is NOT raising an issue, this is a discussion in among other members about what we think.

its mearly an opinion, and my observation, at no point has direction or blame been made.

At no point has direction or blame been made.

Are you sure?? :headvswal :headvswal

What about posts you made earlier today:

but dont forget the people who have STOPPED or are about to stop coming here, due to the actions of a handful of mates who treat the club as their own.

or this one:

I think this could possibly be a case of, committee 1 the club 0.

You really need to remember what you post, before making statements like that Martin :headvswal

and at what point did i blame anyone in person?????

Steve, you and i will NEVER agree, so lets make a deal to not comment on each other, I simply refuse to have my opinion pulled apart in the hope i will say something i could be banned for.

so we agree.

no more quotes or posts about each opther here, we cant go wrong then can we.

im allowed my opinion like everyone

I've been away for a few days and just got an e-mail from another site informing me our Chunk has been banned!!! What's he done so wrong now then??? :(

not sure if this is aimed at what i posted

It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular paul just in general people keep saying the forum is going to the dogs with all these people posting crap.

Well without these people who socialise and share they're finding whether zed related or not their missing posts would leave the forum very baren and far too technical to be seen as a friendly warm and inviting place to join.

I apologise i post "rubbish" but i also post useful things, i help people where i can and unfortunately my knowledge isn't as vast as some of the members on here but i may know something that they don't (as rare as that sounds).

I don't post anywhere near as much as i did because to be honest amount of grief i get (directly and indirectly) for posting doesn't warrant the enjoyment i used to get from the forum.

I spent about 40/50 hours mastering the clubs promo film for JAE voluntarily and a number of hours coming up with a logo/styling for the club which i've been working on in my spare time recently and i really don't know if i can be bothered any more to finish it.

If people have that much of the problem with my "rubbish" then i'll leave and join another club just pm me and say the word.

back in your hutch bunny :p

no matter whats been said and what hasnt, the last thing anybody wants to see are members feeling that they are not wanted.

the club seems to be having a lot of inhouse bickering at the moment which is not constructive.

there is a couple of Zed sections and a NZR section, simple!

if you dont like the Non Zed Related stuff dont post in it and visa versa.

so chunk got banned...he must have overstepped the mark. im sure he was given warnings and therefore was fully aware of the consequences.

as much as he is a very valued and respected member, one person does not make a club and im sure he will be back.

nick

BantamB - I don't think anyone was having a go at you, mate.

Sounds like you've done great work on the video.

I like the 'non Zed related' posts and make the odd one myself ;)

I thought this was about the banning of Chunk and it's got a bit off-topic.

    bunny you right you dont know 5hit lol

I think Chunk has put so much time into this club in the past and helped make it what it is it's mad to ban him.

Yes and so have many others on here including myself but that has NOTHING to do with not banning members if they break the AUP.

Lets not forget that this club has also done plenty for Chunk,we have raised over £700 in collections for him because of his leg.

If I stand down from the Committee and break rules that we have in place I would expect the same to happen to me even though I have spent hours of my free time chasing people around that dont get parts and have problems with buying and selling.

Sign of the times ....

Funny that when I done one of these  You go on torquepower complain about me and call me sarcastic they say you wont be coming on here ever again and as soon as your 7 day ban is up you post 12 times in the same day

I guess rules are rules and are there for a reason (not that I've ever read them :x: )

Hopefully it'll all sort itself out and everyone'll be ok and happy again.

We never seem to solve anything with these threads about banning and policy etc.

Anyway, I'm waffling now. I'll stop sticking me oar in. Least said, soonest mended etc. :duffer:

lets kiss and make up now ok... ....

The trouble is, members cant reply to these comments, because they fear being banned. so its one sided

speaking of banned, has anyone seen TT Tim on here lately? me and him had a little tiff a few years back and i dare say we'd probably get banned for it these days?

you remember, MAC?

si.

Yes I do
