hi guys as u might know my car has been in brookside garage for 1 month having new turbos fitted from turbo technics!!!!. now when i origionaly took the car there i explained the turbo was shot and told him to remove the turbo's and fit the new stage 1 turbo's he said to me about a two week job fair enough i let him carry on, he tells me there is no courtesy car for me which i understand , i can struggle for two weeks without. i call after two weeks and ask about the car & they tell me they havent started to replace the new turbo's yet and they give me some shit about the other workload they have to do so they stop doing my car, i call back in 2 days & ask how is the car again they say the 300 is a massive job but we have others to do so we r leaving yours for a bit, getting annoyed now i call every day to ask about the car any way after a month of calling he is still making excuses right then fuck this!! i call their reception desk and tell them im coming there 2 pick the car up at 2 pm. on the way there the mobile goes its brookside, the car isnt ready yet but fuck it im going anyway, i get there and they tell me the car is ready, the mechanic test drives it and says its ok and i pay up for the job, 1 mile down the road the hicas light comes on, the boost gauge does not work and a masive squeeling noise in the turbo. straight back to garage i get the mechanic to come with me for a ride he hears the noise says its ok and u kneed more sound deadning!!!!!!!! i take the car back on monday to be sorted he works on it for two days and still there is squeeling the hicas is on & boost gauge not working, now u understand i am a very patiant man bout there incompetence now when the service manager tells me to take it to another garage to sort it i start to loose my rag i ask him who the fuck is going to pay for your fuck up and your incompetence in dealing withe the car being a nissan maim dealer, he answers that i have to pay for the work done, he says he needs a rolling road to sort it out, i am now really fucked of with his attitude towards me cos he knows i have paid him in full for the work done he thinks he can wash his hands of the job!!!! so i get my mummy to call the garage & pretend to be a solicitor shes good at this guys!!!! she gets through to the boss who quickly denies all knowledge of my car and puts her through to the service manager who gives her loads of bullshit about we only fit the turbos on the car and not test them and how i was impatiant for the car FFS!!! its not a month job is it and he still says that i have to pay somwhere else to rectify the job!!!!, i call the garage again and get through to the bosses son who is very sympethetic and he aggrees that his garage has not got the facillities to do work on a 300zx, and tells me to take it somwhere else and says u get it sorted & if its our fault we will pay to rectify it, which i find acceptable, question is guys where can i take it for a proper job any ideas fellas i live on anglesey so somwhere not a million miles away cheeeeeeers!!!

Ring Dave Buckley at Abergele Skoda bud on 01745 828219, that's the workshop number so if you can't get anyone to answer keep trying. He has given me another guys name Eugene who works for a garage in Kinmel Bay. I'm off to see him on Saturday about my oil leak.

 

Dave is too busy to see me at short notice but is a really helpful guy.

I had a similar problem a few years ago with a Ford Grandad V6.

I bought the car at a dealer about 30 miles away from home. I got within a couple of miles of home and the water emptied all over the road and left me stranded.

Called the garage who sold me it and asked them to come and get it. They said they had no one available for the weekend and to get it towed to my local garage and they will pay to get it repaired.

So with no choice as I needed the new car for work I took it to a local guy who I know is really cheap. The water pump had failed and a hose was split too. He did me a very good price for fitting and used a non ford cheapo pump. Called the garage where I bought the car to confirm I had got the work done and for them to send me a cheque as they had agreed.

The guy said "Who told you that mate are you taking the piss? You must be joking thats a right fucking rip off - we could have done it for half the price". I said well I asked you to and you told me to get someone else to do the work. Obviously they would cost more than doing it at trade yourself. They literally told me to fuck off, laughed and hung up on me. When I rang back about 20 times they just hung up on me and started playing silly buggers with the old "hello, hello I can't hear you" shit.

Just make sure you have it in writing that they will be paying BEFORE you send it elsewhere mate!

I made a mistake and trusted a used car dealer. What other line of business treats it's customers like car dealers?

Do they expect repeat business by telling you to fuck off? If I told my customers to fuck off I would be out of business in a few weeks. Mind you he probably was.

Somehow these greasy fuckwits get away with it.

He should have paid up however as a month later I went round his shitty forecourt in the dark and poured paint stripper over the front ends of about 15 cars. The price of most of em was around 2-3 grand so hopefully they were not worth a respray either.

He thought he was clever but I bet he sat for a few nights wondering why someone would want to do that to his business.

Hopefully he worked it out and may think twice in future.

You could do what a friends dad did once to a garage that did a bad job on his car .

 

He blocked the front door of the garage -left it in-gear - put his steering lock on - locked the car-up and stood by it telling all prospective customers not to buy from the garage and would carry on and tell them what had happened to him.

 

Game on I say.

I totally agree with Chris and get something in writing before you take it to someone else. How are you gonna prove anything if they turn round and say "we never told him to do that"???????

With me it wasn't so much the cost of the repair, which in FastRedZ case WILL mount up to a lot of cash. I think the repair cost about £110 quid including the pump, pipe, fluids and labour. (Makes me laugh now I have a Z!)

What really pissed me off is that he left me stranded with a broken down car which I had only driven for about half an hour, had no intention of honouring the so called warranty on the car, lied to me about telling me to get it fixed elsewhere, then laughed at me and told me to fuck off.

The guy should never have been in business.

 

good point guys i will get them to put it in writing for me so they cant fuck me around again!!! got a wiered clonking sound when i turn the steering as well and when i go over bumps is it the suspention arm bushes or has nelson got a bag full of leftover nuts and bolts!!!!!

That's what mine is doing mate! When I turn full lock round to the left it bangs like fuck!

 

Still got really bad pulling to the right and stearing wheel wobble aswell.

I think mine has gone too mateys.

Replaced the tension rod bushes with poly ones about 5 months ago and now the drivers side front is clonking on pulling away and stopping. Juddering again on braking too.

 

It's not usually a 'bush' as such that goes. It's the top link of the suspension that has a kind of sliding bush that wears out and leads to tyre wear, and sometimes clunking noises. They're also fairly expensive ! There is a copy of the Nissan bulletin about it on my web site under one of the suspension sections.

Just to go a little further on andys point about it being the arm - unfortunately you can't replace the bushes in them You have to buy the whole bloody arms which aint cheap....

The first thing that I would do to the garage in question is write them a nice long letter explaining the above with

 

WITHOUT PREJUDICE

 

slapped across the top. That way it states that these are the facts as you see them and you are quite willing to stand up in court and say the same thing.

 

Send it to the Manager, the Service Manager and Nissan UK Customer Services. Make enough noise and something will be done.

these seem to be nismo replacement bushes - looks like I lied!!! These were NOT available a few months ago! Only thing is there is no price available for the outer bushings so maybe they're not available yet???

 

One other point is that the bolts would probably need to be replaced too (they are the pivots) but they can't be too expensive...

I've got a pair of bushes on order from Courtesy via the Smithmeistro. Wish I'd ordered a shite load now!

I assume they are not included in the poly bush set that you can buy at Courtesy...

Still not cheap either - $120.00 for 4 inner bushes and probably a similar price for the 4 outer ones. Plus bolts if they are needed and shipping.

Judging by this the complete standard Nissan arm must be a really silly price.
