I think you need to gauge the person you are buying off as much as the car itself, you can sometimes tell the type who cherish and the type who thrash.

 

I would look for a jap model myself but then others will say differently,

it would be a good idea to take someone from the club to look at it with you as there are lots of things that can go wrong.

i found one in gray is this a (rare) colour like the seller is saying.

gray is not a rare colour.

 

And to be honest mate we cant tell you anything from a description of a car. Your best bet is to find a car you really really like. Go look at it, take it for a good LONG test drive and chat to the owner.

Then go home and come on here and ask one of the guys to go and have another look at the car with you to spot anything you might have missed.

 

As for price, a good Zed will cost you about the £4k mark really.

 

The other thing I like to tell people is to ignor what miles the car says it has, I dont and wont believe that for 2 seconds there are sooooo many 17 year old cars floating about and all still only have 55k on them. Just look at how well looked after the car is and ignore the little numbers on the dash.

I wouldn't buy one from a dealer when there's plenty of good ones for sale on here at the moment that have been owned by enthusiasts. If it's performance your after then I'd go for a manual twin turbo.
