Auto ECU will work fine in a manual car Graham. Doesn't work the other way round though ;)

Graham, you will need flywheel + bolts, clutch + bolts, spigot for crankshaft as it is different on the manual, propshaft, gearbox, clutch master and slave + piping, pedal (clutch), gear stick + mounting plate, 2 rubber boots, leather interior boot + fixing frame and 4 screws. Me & son (jimmer) started mine at 9.30am and I was driving it home at 4pm. You do not need any looms.

cheers mate your a star. anyone have these?

sorry for hijack but what if my auto ecu is chipped (JD) would it still do the same in a manual conversion

you can still run the chip even if you do a manual swap, as said auto works with manual but not vice versa

What wasn't mentioned was that there is a (sort of) auto trans spigot bush too that will have to be removed before you install the manual one. I missed that info on here and smashed my new one to bits trying to install it. Also definately try to get help doing the job cos its a very tedious one and if nothing else you have a mate to swear at as well as swareing at the car a lot.

Another thing is that you don't need the manual wiring harnes but its worth getting if its available as it saves butchering youre original harness.

I just did my conversion on my driveway in the pissing rain and I will tell ya it cannot be done in a day in that situation. I am a mechanich who used to specialise in jaguar V12's and belive me I think they are an easy car to work with now after the 300.

These cars are full of unnesasery crap that you dont need.

Many thanks to petrolhead for Fu**ing my auto box in the first place for the crap I just went through.

car is great now tho and I recomend a manual conversion to anyone.

have a word with jay psc he has a full manual conversion kit with everything you would need and with servo clutch and air tanks including rps clutch / lightned flywheel etc as for the wiring loom you can use the auto loom as you only need to connect the green wire for the reverse lights and a inhibitor switch to bypass

richard

Yup I have a FULL manual conversion kit here, all parts inc seals/bushes etc

defending petrolheads (aka dave) in his absence :nono: i was under the impression that you was informed the cooler fix was temp just to get you rolling again so the car would not be stuck in the back of his premises, and iff ime not mistaken did he not loan or at least sell you at a reduced rate his koyo off his own car just to get you rolling. sorry to hijack but i dont like character attacks in someones absence even more so when its a friend who i know would lend you his shoes to get you the last half mile home as 99% of this forum know  .

ps iff you see a blacktt with a hks single exit on the wirral v12, then thats me bud ;)

I agree... He has done some good work when I was not able to get the time and even when the box he sold me blew up (that's the one that I have recently pulled out) he came out of work and followed me home a quarter mile at a time (we had to keep stopping to let the box cool as it kept losing drive) so I know his heart is in the right place.

The thing is (and I don't know what you have been told).. He did sell me his koyo rad at about 200 quid as my original rad fell apart while he was putting a new knock sensor on  . he gave me the car back and never mentioned that he had completely bypassed the oil cooler (yes I know I should have realised after he said it was off his car and I know that is a manual).

What bothers me is that when I called him two weeks ago to ask why he had bypassed my oil cooler he did just say that he does this as normal practice and he has done this to about 5 other cars because the oil cooler don't do much anyway.

he said that as the box was second hand it may have just died from old age, but I think that having no cooler at all was a big contribution.

At the end of the day he does have some good knowlege of the Z32 and like I said earlier has bailed me out a few times but I do feel that in this instance he has let me down and cost me a hell of a lot of money in the process and now seems to have washed his hands of it, but hey ... we live and learn.

Onje last thing.. yes I have seen your car about and you have probably seen mine (BLIMEY... A red 93) although I never drive it now as my missus has taken a liking to it and I have become the mechanic lol.
