Hi all,

Just to let you know that this morning two sizable fraudulent transactions have taken place on my Nochex account. I am now working with the police and my bank to resolve the issue as soon as possible. My suggestion to you is for anyone with a Nochex account to change his/her login details IMMEDIATELY.

Also, I can't sodding find any telephone contact number for Nochex. If anyone has it could you please text it to me at 07876684354 ASAP so that I can speak to them regarding this issue. Right now all I could do is e-mail their customer service centre - like that's going to work ...

But what is to stop them transferring money into that account (assuming they gain access to your NoChex account)

THanks guys for your help.

Indeed I too had no balance in my Nochex account but the sod transferred money from my bank to the Nochex account and then transfered it on! I do have a name and e-mail address but that could be bogus.

Tim - many thanks mate, I'll give them a call.

Will keep you up to date on the progress.

Danny

Just got confirmation from NOCHEX that my account has been cancelled. Also tested it myself.

This fortunate as it is a major hassle to cancel my debit card.

Danny hope you get your dosh back, and they put the motherf***er who stole your money behind bars for a long time.

  • 2 weeks later...

someone also hacked into my account and removed sizeable amount of money, bastards ! . nochex don't want to know, just keep sending me fob off messages. keep me informed on your progress guys !

Have you threatened them with the data protection act?

They are holding information about you, which should be secure. If they still fob you off, get a solicitor.

Situation Update:

I now have my bank AND the police involved in the investigation. Nochex still has not responded to me directly with any thing other than a standard letter stating (1) I inadvertedly gave someone else access to my login details (= BOLLOX), (2) I should change my password (= can't do that since they froze my account pending the investigation), and (3) they declare absolute non responsibility for this action. However, they have acknowledged that someone did access my account and are investigating that. I've passed all of the evidence I have over to the bank's fraud team, who work closely with the police, and my soliciter said to wait a week or so to see how Nochex is going to react. If they do not react at all or still are not cooperating then we're going to start a suit against Nochex.

In the meantime, I urge everyone on this forum to either change their login details or close their Nochex account all together.

Nochex are terry f***wits, I have had loads of mails from them telling me someone tried and failed to access my account - I cannot access my account because my password had changed and I have told them in no uncertain terms to cancel my account permenantly.

Subj: IMPORTANT : NOCHEX Service Updates

Date: Wed, 13 Mar 2002 17:00:52 -0000

From: support@nochex.com

We apologise for the NOCHEX service being unavailable over the past few days.

In a bid to respond to a sudden increase in demand for the service, we have

had to add more computing capacity. Frustratingly, this is taking longer than

anticipated and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience this is causing some

of our members.

It is important to note that there are no security problems and your money is

completely safe.

We see this as an isolated incident and we are working hard to get the

service up and running as soon as possible and prevent any future downtime.

Thank you for your understanding and we will keep you posted.

Yours sincerely,

NOCHEX Customer Services http://www.nochex.com

All together now....hmmmmmm....
