Infinity & beyond - not!

I thought I'd try a 0-60 dash on my Z. Loaded the car to 4k dropped the clutch, rear wheels squeal a bit, revs go up deep into the red zone 7500+, and i'm going nowhere! Clutch slipping like mad. Rip into 2nd , hit redline and clutch still slipping. I'm doing maybe 15mph now. Then the smell of the burning clutch. Oh bu^$er!

 

Then i try the launch control. Set to 3500 revs the engine bogs a bit but clutch grips and I'm away.

 

So my RPS clutch needs a wee bit of attention me thinks!

 

There is no adjustment right?

Same thing happend to me the other week frown.gif launch control set to 4000rpm i think, dropped clutch, and just sat there smoking my clutch.

I think thats it coogs. No adjustment.

Time for a new clutch.

Buying stateside is the definate option on this product.

 

A decent clutch 6 puc ect is abotu $500 us.

Plus £70 for the nice man at fedex.

sO ABOUT £427 and youll have a clutch that can cope with real torque, ie about 500 foot pound +

 

If it's 6 puck disc you want then I have one that will fit nicely into your RPS setup.

Yep - it's gonna be new clutch time for me soon too as I'm getting slip when in 3rd 4th and 5th around 3500K.

I tend to get perfect launches if I rev up to 2600rpm then drop the clutch, very little wheelspin. Anything over 3000 rpm, I'm wheelspinning like a bugger going nowhere.
