JD and I spent the day over at Steve's workshop (Bodywork Plus) yesterday to strip out my bay ready for the respray and V8 and also fit some TEIN HA's, new DBA brake discs (bought from Smithy ages ago) and Ferodo pads, basically a fair bit (John, I've never seen you move so fast mate! Oh, and got the message about your fun with the SL55...if the drive last night is anything to go by the poor bugger didn't stand a chance! :wack: :D)

Decided to move the rear alloys onto the fronts and get a much deeper dish custom made for the old fronts to put back as the new rears (did that make sense? ;)). Should be looking at a 13 or 14" width fitment which will do the job nicely. Only thing is, as you can see from the pics, my Brembo's are starting to look a bit lost under the 19's now! Think I'm going to have to start putting money aside for a big brake conversion and sell on my R33 set-up. Any recommendations gratefully recieved :)

Will do. Yep, got absolutely loads but Steve has asked if I can hold fire from posting them anywhere for a bit. Bugger! :p I guess all I can say is that she's exceeded all my expectations, and then some. I'm hoping we're on the right track with this project as even JD, the king of function over form said he actually liked it! I nearly fell over... ;)

355mm 6 pots. £1500

Are you talking about your old set-up? I PM'd you about them a while back when you mentioned possibly selling them on but didn't get a reply so thought you'd found a way to get them to fit?

I need 19" rims.

Why dont you give rotora a bell tomoro mate.

Cheeky b*****d. I can move quickly, I just prefer to conserve energy when possible.

SL55 thing was hilarious, outrun by a 160bhp french tin box. Love it when crap drivers buy fast cars! Look on his face was brilliant. Got to say though, when he first passed me on the (only) straight it was like I'd put mine in reverse! VERY VERY quick. Got passed him on the first bend though and from then on just left him.

nice one john. its great when you can really embaress someone in a fast car when your driving something basic

may be you could get a set of bugatti brakes for it they will fill the gap nicely

Not before doing some more research I won't. Would like to look into Endless, Tarox, AP etc before I commit.

AP pots are good. the disks are shit.

3G will custom make any size rotor you want if i remember correctly , they then make the ascociated braketery and fixings to make it all work ...give them a ring and have a chat ........

steve

You want some of these babies

The calipers are as good as the AP's as there actually made by alcon for greddy and according to many of the skyline tuners the discs are the best :)

The silly thing is it was cheaper for me to sell my APs and buy these than replace the discs on my APs  :)

Mike

those look the mutts nutz Mike ..........maybe i should fit them to my wife ..might slow her down a bit ........

Cheers Mike :) Think I'll be seeing if my mate in Saitama can come up with a good price or get hold of anything else interesting brakes-wise (I might stand a good chance of picking up something 2nd hand as he's always breaking performance cars)
