do you think its worth the risk it drives but misses and smokes i do have a garage to use so no probs there

Deffo ring lands then!!! Cost will be new piston(s) (buy wiesco and you get the rings with the kit), rebore/honing the block, gaskets and other misc service items (oil coolant etc). It doesn't seem that cheap to me considering the work thats involved fixing it, although by doing it yourself you're gonna save yourself probably ~£2k :)

depends how much you can get it for, a pretty standard late plate UK R33 is worth at the moment between £12-14k depending on condition so if i was going to take the risk i would factor in how much its gonna cost if you got a garage to do the work so if this was me i would allow for at least £4k so wouldnt pay anymore than £8k for the car to be safe.

also theres decent R33's around for not much over £10k that are in really good nick

ok thanks guys i really appreciate the advice  i thought it would have been worth more than £14k thats why i was intrested in it, with full service history, the aftermarket stuff and plate, also its a uk model and its V spec i'll look into how much the parts are but i'll probably pass on it

phoned GT ART today very helpful (unlike the skyline forums  ) and they said £5000 for a full rebuild with jun internals. spoke to him about the car and he said i should get £18,000 back for it easy because been a UK model

very unlikely mate, tuning garages always say what they "think" there worth but in the real world even with a 5k rebuild you would be lucky to get £15k for it trust me i'm a doctor ;)

same here, ive lost to much on the zed as it is so dont wanna end up paying £14/15k to end up in same situation again but at the same time if you buy one for 9k it will proberly need few grand spending on it. as for advice just search the forums frequently do your research

lol everyone says that but there actually dark purple to match the car but with the flash it makes them look lighter

it had a £5k retrim before i bought it!! the dash and everything but i took it off the dash as it was tooooooooooooooooooooo much purple for me  but with that off its lovely, all i would do is stick a standard carpet in to break it up a little more
