Posts: 146 the easiest way is find a 75mm diameter drink bottle.cut it in half.get a tyre valve and insert it through a drilled hole in the cap.jubilee clip the bottle around the maf and hey presto!!.

Mate, just look around the engine and look for broken hoses, that's how I found mine. :wack:

You absolutely sure both turbos are spooling? Classic sign of a dead turbo that! A leak that major would cause all sorts of running problems. Does the engine hesitate at all when its trying to boost?

yep i agree with andy had same symptoms turned out to be a sized turbo on drivers side, bloody would be wouldnt it, the worst one to get to.

Take the large pipes off that are going to the turbos, you should be able to feel an impellor in there see if you can turn them they should have very little play and turn easy if they dont turn then the tub is siezed. good luck

yep there new turbos there both fine ,the dump valves both work fine ,hesitates b4 boost and ticks over really bad.

your obviously building enough pressure to activate the dump valves, so if your dumping ok you aint got blocked bouls  , so you must have dodgy gauge, is the gauge stock? as they arnt very reliable more of a gimmick or have you got after market gauge which is more reliable? if you have check pipe hasnt been squashed or split

edit...just a thought have you checked car is running on all 6? could be dodgy injector or coil pack or connector that would explain rough running or tick over. Also have you perfomed an ecu check to see if you have any codes come up

yes the car runs on all 6 ,new plugs etc put on ,ecu check came up clear.yes the guage is stock and yeah i no its buggerd but even though the guage is bust that wont affect boost ,will it!?.we have put an after market guage on it and its like 1-2 psi i cant understand if the boost is there where am i loosing it !

what i mean is the after market gauge may not be reading correctly if the vac pipe to it is crushed or split etc, as it sounds as though you are getting boost if the bov's are working. Does the car feel a lot slower when you boot it and spin the tubs up?

What Bov's have you got and where they put on before or after the new tubs? sometimes they can make the car run worse. what have you done with the stock re circ valves?

Have you checked all the pipes on the balance bar?

Could be you have a waste gate stuck open as this will cause you to lose boost as the boost pressure will excape out the easiest way, even if only one side is open it will drew pressure from the other side too through the balance bar as that is what its there for to balance pressure up on both turbo's, but then i doupt your bov's would work if waste gate open.

The hesitation might be nothing to do with it just coinsidence?

Has the car been chipped or had boost jets or a boost controller fitted?

Only way I can see you losing that much air is a major boost pipe blown off. If this is the case, get it sorted asap as one turbo will be spinning its nuts off with no compressor load. Check the pipework from the turbo to the throttle bodies and check one of your intercoolers hasn't had an unpleasant meeting with a stone. Suppose it could also be a jammed recirc but testing that would be a PITA!

Well thanks for all your help, had the day off and decided to take a look arround see if i could find the leak, well drivers side back of the engine on the very left small boost pipe split there (boost guage me thinks) right hand side at the back another pipe split and replaced then removed the battery and checked the 2 clips on the pipe coming off the turbo ,bottom 1 was loose as F*** and the turbos are new AHHHHHHH,sorted that and cleaned the MAF sensor conections.Took the car out drove smooth and boosted to standard levels:),in to zed world end of the month for tweeking, happy again:)
