my locks are messed up and it jsut happened recently, okay so i open the door, i lock it and it locks the driver and passanger door, i close the door and little lockingy hangle pops out so i can see the orange part and it sends a signal to the passanger door and unlocks that one too, so basically i cant lock my car and this just started happening yesterday, also when i turn the car on the locks used to lock and now i hear the click noise but they dont lock and whne i turn the car off and take the key out they used to unlock but now i hear the clikc noise as if it was tryign to unlock but it doesnt work, i also have an alarm and i have keyless entry and when i try to open/close the car it doesnt open/close, but i hear the click noise as if it were trying to open/cllose and before it worked, do you guys have any ideas? also what the heck does the PW lock button do on the driver side next to the open window control????

thanks for your help

p/w lock = passenger window lock... it prevents the passeger from operating the window.

as for the locking problem, from what i can make out about locking it with the door open then closing the door, im sure that is a standard safety feature so you dont lock your keys in the door. if it locks once the engine has started, this is an aftermarket alarm type gadget. this sends a signal to a little electric actuator on the drivers door, so left for your car, which is attached to the original locking mechanism and locks or unlocks depending on the signal input.

so basically, i think your problem is most likely to be the electric actuator or the main central locking unit. oh and the clicking is probably the indicator relay as you arm/disarm your alarm.

hope this helps.

the clicking has nothign to do with the after market alarm, you misread my post, i said

when i turn the key, and the doors are unlocked they try to lock themselves but they cant, when i take the key out and the doors are locked they try to unlock theselves, but they cant but i hear the motor or whatever the ****ign shit is used to open/lock the doors, but then i manually press the door lock, it locks it self along with the passanger side, when i unlock it manually, it unlocks the passanger side manually too, so what i think its wrong is that somethign got unhoocked or the motor isnt strong enough to lock it or its to tight maybe it needs grease, also im not deaf i can tell the difference between a grinding noise and a beeping noise

being pedantic, it is power window lock :p

and quite right, you cannot lock the drivers door while it is open. Seems to me like there is nothing wrong, cause of it not locking and unlocking automatically is almost certainly your alarm going tits up.

edit - and why come on here trying to be a clever dick when people are trying to help.

he said that im hearing the alarm arming itself when thats not it and if you say that it has somethign to do with the alarm, thne why doesnt it lock itslef when i insert/turn the key, it does the noise as if were to lock itself but the plastic handle doesnt move, and when i do it manually, it does feel like its hard to lock/unlock it, uthink your clever because you think your the only one that realized that, and your pointing out, but infact your the clever one because if i was i wouldnt be asking for help in the first place

he said that im hearing the alarm arming itself

No he didn't, he said you could be hearing the indicator relay, which will click when you arm your alarm. (because the indicators will flash) :headvswal
