I popped round to see my folks yesterday and when I came to drive home I couldn't start my Z, because the immobiliser wouldn't disengage. I tried all three different fobs, all with the same effect (...like none). Even got the AA out and after taking everything apart he could bypass the starter, so that was working, but apparently it's linked in to the fuel line as well(?), so it still wouldn't start.

Has anyone had any trouble like this before? Any tips?

Wouldnt use AA to touch any car Alarms/mobilzers they are not Quailfied to touch them..( Seven years breakdowns an recovery on M25/m23). I would not let them have touched it under any cicumstances ..

Voids warranty..........

Depends on what type is fitted .. but most should have a coded number to reset.. do not keep pressing key fobs because they can get out of sinc. if this happens you will need to orperate manufactors instructions............iF you havent got them .... try contacting them some how...Try local Alarm Spicialish. ......Some times bad news.. If it is a good system by tampering with it the only route is new ECU.. they are put in to stop peeps stealing you car ........

Dont take short cuts get it looked at propely Hard advice but saves munny in the end............hope you get sorted........

Thanks guys, appreciate the advice. Got the AA to tow it to a specialist and they bypassed the immobiliser for now. It was a pain anyway, because the alarm and immobiliser were fitted separately, so I had far too many fobs to worry about!
