hi there,

i have been searching around for ages looking for the best place to buy gauges - a boost gauge to start but would like to get oil pressure and water temperature at a later date so i would like them to match - rather they be cheaper and reliable (if thats a possible combination)

Advice would be much appreciated

There are alot of places on the internet and even on ebay, dont over look buying stuff from the states even with the import tax that you CAN get, it still sometimes works out cheaper than in this country.

cheap gauges are ok but they cant always be relyed upon for there reading.

Nice one mate - don't forget that you may need an oil filter sandwich plate to plumb in your oil pressure sensor and an adaptor like the one in the pic for the water temp one as well. And maybe even an A-pillar pod to mount them as well.

oh no, all of that went straight over my head - is it really complex to install and get hold of - where would i get info for fitting all that? did you get your pillar pod from zcentre

I got my guage pod from zcentre and I'm really impressed with the fit and finish, I got one for the stereo slot too as I'm running 5 guages. They're not hard to wire up and fit, all you need is a bit of basic knowledge and some common sense. If you have bought from http://www.guageplace.co.uk then have a look in the accessories section (I think) for the sandwich plate and rad pipe fitting. If you're not sure of anything just give Nick a ring as he's a really helpful bloke. FYI, I didn't use the rad pipe fitting, I just tapped into the original sensor. When fitting the sandwich plate, make sure you use plenty of PTFE tape around the sensors and blanking plugs to avoid leaks, one of mine was leaking a bit and so had to drain all the oil and start again.

Good luck mate. (Allow plenty of time for fitting so you can get the wiring run right)
