the boot is only cable, no relay so im guessing maybe its stretched and you can hear the lock starting to open?

nope felt the relaywhilst pulling the cable, and it only clicks when i pull it??? theres a power connection on my real lock as well not sure what thats for, though it might be part of the relay set up?

How'd i tighten up the pull cord onthe rear lock then??

Neil

im positive there is not a relay on the lock mate.

ill check for you if i can, but im fairly sure no

There is a modual in both doors, the one on the drivers side lock sends a signal to the passenger side one, which locks the door.

Take the passenger door panels off, locate the modual (n the locking mechanism) and place a multimeter on to the wires, then operate you central locking the normal way. If you get a signal, then the passenger side modual is fooked, if you don't, chances are your drivers side unit is fooked instead. I know that all sounds pretty basic, but it's the quickest way.

Oh, if it is your passenger side one that doesn't work, I believe I still have a good unit (somewhere)

As for your boot, what model Zed do you have, as some later UK's (I think) have the factory alarm installed which has an electrical connection to the boot lock.

92 jspec. so not sure if it's an alarm thing, it might be, but it only 1 wire! might be a continuity thing.

cheers for that will have to have a look car interior is stripped out so testing is not a prob. will get back to you.

Nope, not right. It should be 12 volts, as there is no other circuitry in there that would warrant lowering the voltage.

Just go over to the drivers side and check the voltage on the Blue and Light Green wires (the ones to the passenger side ones) If you are getting the same voltage, it is defo the drivers module that is fooked. If you are getting 12 volts, then you've got some wire chasing to do!
