Right, I got some new drilled and slotted front brake disks for the zed, size of 280mm x 30mm, its a 93 swb tt, now then heres me thinking that it would be an easy swap, but no, they're too small!

when I fit the caliper theres only half the pad covering the disk, now I chucked the old disks last weekend and did the job this weekend, so now I wish I kept the old ones to measure them, but looking at the caliper in place the old disk must have been 300mm around about, these were not aftermarket disks or calipers either, they're nissan calipers.

My question is, do the swb tt's have bigger disks than the lwb's, I thought all were 280mm across, but it seems that they're not.

Any help on this please?

you dont mention whether your replacing front or rear discs ?? fronts are 280mm/30mm rears are 297mm/30mm iirc, unless previous owner did a bigger disc conversion is there a additional bracket attached to calipers ??

the stock disks are.

TOO FOOKING SMALL

so if these ones you have are smaller, dont even bother.

well you've got the correct sized discs there mate, if your thinking these are too small, best put a pic up of yer calipers in case previous owner fitted something different that your not aware off..

no extra caliper brackets.

The zeds calipers and disk are the same size as Skyline GTS-t disks and calipers so I have been told, but if I put one of my calipers up next to a Skyline GTS-t caliper, it looks the same except the two bits that bolt to the hub seem longer on the zed caliper to accomadate the bigger disk.

I'm starting to think that maybe these are GT-R calipers I have.

Any brake know-it-alls here?

The 32 GTS-T and the 33 used different calipers, however if your were GTS-t the difference would be minimal, yes am thinking you have GTR calipers, like i said put up a pic and yep we're all talking fronts here :)

I just had the very same problem but with a UK LWB TT. Took it down to the garage, assumed brakes standard size and the parts ordered by the mechanic did not fit.

He tells me I need 300mm on the front and 303mm at the back. ******* car wants more money out of me. Not content with just standard size brakes.

It had better stop in a hurry when this is done!

Did no one tell you the Z is a money hoover mate if you think it is a low cost car you made the wrong choice :nono:

Sorry like don't shoot the messenger but check out the tech advice size of our forum and compare with other makes and models. Tells you all you need to know about whether you'll be a-spendin' or not !!!!

These are my calipers.

well they deffo ain't GTR 33/34 calipers mate thats for sure.

Possibly GTS-T r32 as there is very little difference between them and ours.

cheers

Well I just checked me catalogue bud and GTR32 uses 296mm front discs as does the R33 GST-T and the R34 GT, Whereas the R34 GT-T uses 310mm discs. All of those use calipers which at 1st glance look the same and should use the same pads as the Zed

Personally I think you have 296mm discs with matching calipers which as i say are barely any different to ours except how far they stick out.

As for Ashtone your clearly in the same boat, previous owner has swapped for a set of the above thinking they would be an improvement, which if they are, is minimal really. As for yer rears wanting 3003mm, all those models I mentioned above use 297mm rears, the GTR33/34 uses 300mm rears BUT they would be with GTR rear calipers which have brembo wrote on them. Don't see any listing for bigger than 300mm,soz

Hope all that helps a little for you fellas.
