Guy and and a growing no of girls,

Right first off, what's involved in changing the rear seat belt's it to uk speck ones, i.e. 3 point fitting, also how do i go about changing the front belts so they are not on the doors, obviously this is a jspec

And lastly, anybody know how to fit the rear window in a tailgate tub? is it a case of bonding the widow to the fiber glass or what, real stuck on this one :headvswal and wanna fit it tommorow nite (finish work at 5 so post's before then please.)

Many thanks inadvance.

Not sure how you can convert unless you have all the black trims. Not only from a UK though. The 1994 Jap TT I have just dismantled has 3 point rer belts and front belts are not on doors either.

I put 3 point rear belts in mine a couple of weeks ago. You have to remove the rear seats and the side panels, then just remove the old belts and bolt the new ones in place. I had already put a UK spec alcantara interior in mine though, so the slots for the UK belts were already there. I also had to drill a hole in the side trim for the upper bolt.

The front belts are a different matter. I was planning to do those too, but although the holes are there for the pillar mounted belts, they don't have the threaded plates welded in, so I can't do the conversion as far as I can tell. :(

I'd take things apart and make sure you have the threaded plates, rather than just a hole, before you buy replacement belts if I were you.

you can try and put the same size nut on a bolt and try to get it in the hole, then weld in the nut and unscrew the bolt and see if it would fit that way.

only a thought

i thought about doing that sort of thing, but the metal around the hole seems pretty flexible. The welded plate stiffens it up a lot and would spread the load. I suppose I could weld a plate over the top but I don't really want to risk it not holding if I do have a crash and it's not as strong as a factory fitted one!
