When I did the cambelt I was worried about the position of the belt on the crank timing pulley.

Checked the online manual and there should be a sapcing plate behind the pulley. Didnt notice it when I did the job, but the front one was on there.

I think the timing pulley is too far back allowing the belt to rub on the front plate that is there.

I think it sounds worse than it is, cause the old belt doesnt look too worn on the side, just a little shine to it.

It does go after 5 mins, but Im def gonna take it apart and sort it.

Gotta rip her apart as think we've sorted where its from!!!

Sounds like a Pig i used to know  :D

Cheers mate.

Gonna rip her apart again this weekend.

Only problem might be, if the plate isnt on behind the timing pulley, is getting the ******* off!!!!

Have seen a couple where the cambelt was only half as wide as it should of been from rubbing on bottom metal cover.

Is this what you think it is now Mark? Sorry I've been away so trying to catch up on whats going on.

if it goes after 5 mins is it really a problem? ive never owned a car that doesnt make strange noises one way or the other!
