...right, I'm going to order some MT90. Have noticed 2nd and 4th being audible. Not excessively loud. No crunching or anything. But with the t-tops on, you can hear the gears.

I've changed the oil, but not for MT90. I had light crunching in 2nd, with replacement gear oil that went. But 2nd and 4th have become audable.

Should MT90 get rid of this?

It won't do any harm to try mate but you can't say for sure that it will resolve the problem, hopefully it will though.

Your gearbox may be not far from needing some work.

had the same probleme, i use redline 75W140NS, now everything is quiet :)

Is this different from MT90? Did yours make noise in 2nd and 4th?

BTW, I'm hoping my GB doesn't need work. The car's a low mileage one. From what I've read, it's rare for the bearings to go.

no si use redline mt90 better grade and does the job, i got 4 bottles off e-bay for 25 quid remember ,just have a pop on ebay you may get lucky like i was. otherwise buy some in, also get a clarke 500cc oil syringe, i got one under advise of gruntpa and it worked a treat when filling it up.

mine was a little dry sounding but had no crunching, gear change felt dry also, filled with mt90 and its bliss..

if you get mt90 you can get the oil syringe from machine mart for 5.99 not much cash and yours to keep for other stuff.

i used mt90 on mine which was crunching into 4th, made a lot of difference, still a bit noisy but as they say just turn the music up!
