decided to keep my zed and add a few extra mods cosmetic and performance,

but it looks like my turbo seals have gone :rant: well according to the help and advice section anyway!

getting smoke for about 15mins on start up(but only first start up of the day) not forgeting i dont use it everyday)

every fokin time i decide to do somethin somethin fooks up im well pissed off with it!!! :rant:

£1500 + I think unless you do a lot of it yourself :(

engine out n new tubs loookin about a grand if yer do it yerself.mines done it for ages now still runs fine but just a bit embarasing at the lights.but to me (no expert) doesnt sound like tubby seals to me if yer dont drive it lots and only on first start up id say condensation in exhaust.might not be all bad :)

Depends what turbos you have in there now.

big debate over decatting ran mine 3 years without cats @ 16psi. turbo seals are slowly giving up though

mines been decated since i bought her, so at least 3 1/2 years.

its funny though it smoked a bit at back end of last year, but all through the summer until the past couple of weeks its been fine and now its started again.

maybe ive angered the god of zed for threatening to chop her in for an s15 sylvia.

Don't reckon it's tubs bud!-sounds more like valve seals,you switch off,oil runs into the bores,you start up-smoke! ;)

my tubby seals have gone but it still runs ok and if you keep the revs up a little at te lighs it doesnt smokke at all

 

but yours doesnt sound like tubby seals gone, maybe valve stem oil seals are weeping, do a search and if you get really down about this just take a look at my car in the wide arch progress thread :D and it will pick you and restore your faith in your zed

whats the crack with valve seals, what needs to be done? how many spondulics?!!

Before my engine rebuild, mine used to smoke on startup. 2 of my bores were totally shot and I was getting chronic blowback into the intake system. But that was an extreme case.

not really sure about what it entails, but its not just zeds that sufer with this every car can suffer with it

Agree its prob not turbo seals.

You kow if they go becuase if you give it some welly, throttle off then put your foot down again you will get a plume of smoke - thats turbo seals.

to do valve stem seals is a big job ya need to strip the heads down so its engine out either way i belive (again no expert) :)

no, still the same emma thinks its very pale grey almost white, smoked for about 5mins on the drive on sunday then took it for a 5min spin and that was it for the rest of the day.

tink i might just go and get it checked out cos there does seem to be a slight loss of power, but that could just be me :wack:
