Project 2006....

I've been...err busy lately -

- Engine removed and Stripped

- Hicas completely Removed

- Aircon completely Removed

- Intercoolers and all Pipework removed

- EFI Harness removed

- Alloys removed (and put on Wifes NA)

- Exhaust removed (and put on Wifes NA)

- AIV's stuff completely removed

- All EGR and Vacumm pipework removed

- Bumper removed (for new one)

Its Ready for a good clean now !

Just the start of a very long road for what I have in store....Its a very sad sight at the moment and pretty depressing :(

I've lost over 60kg of stuff that wont be going back on the car or getting replaced so far and it will be between 100-150kg lighter when finished...without sacrificing any of the interior or asthetics of the car.

Dave. Can I have your old ECU + Chip?

Sorry to hijack, but i have a good jwt ecu unit available for a manual tt?

;)

btw - good on you Dave, looks like its gonna be a great project!

4.5 litre V8, Quad Cam, 32 valve, VVT.

Aluminium Block & heads.

Just over 300 stock, but Im looking to get a lot more than that out it with Individual Throttle bodys & custom intake, Dry sump, Modified heads, Cams, Manifolds, Standalone ECU Management......possibly overbored and raised compression.

There are some very high powered (1000hp+) turbo charged and supercharged conversions(I think there was/is a 2000hp supercharged one too) running around but Im looking to keep it NA.

Yep this is the lump used in the US and Euro Spec Nissan Patrol.

The yanks go for the Patrol version as its low compresion and turbo charge them. They are running 700bhp on stock internals. So not only is it lighter than the VG32DET its cheeper to get reliable big horses.

The Japs are now Drag racing 4X4's and there is a 2000+bhp Nissan Patrol running silly times with the VH45 lump.

Good luck Dave. If you doing this then I'm quite sure I'll be seeing you at Leons a fare bit.

I am so going to be putting one of those in a shorty for project number two.

I will NOT have any money for the next 10 years lol :D

Blimey, didn't realise there was this many interested.

Will be able to produce a 'kit' including mounts, manifolds, intakes etc to install if anyone wants one. It does all add up mind!! Dry sump system alone is probably ~£1.5k all told

And as said before, can supply the engine as well. Basically the whole package to anyone who wants to perform the conversion. :)

  • 5 weeks later...

WOW !!

Just been looking up what I need for engine and transmission options for a VH45 and found John on Nico.

I can see me asking lots of questions and doing many searches over the next few months as I am wondering what to put my V8 into........possibly my driftcar, possibly a new driftcar, possibly a drift/pimp car !!!

Good to see there are people over here with some knowledge on these engines, I was getting concerned that all I read about was Yanks and Aussies !!!

Good job guys,

J.

have you actually got a dimensional drawing for the adapter plate for the gearbox?

i do have a good reason for it i promise;)
