I know they are not to everyone's taste and I am still totally flumoxed as to what eactly to do to the tailgate of my Z. I personally love the 99-spec rear. BUT, unsure if it would look good on a pearl white.

I think it'll look great on your car. Pearl white is probably my favourite zed colour and if I could have found one in that colour when I was buying that was in decent nick I would have gone for it.

Thank you, I probably should have introduced myself. You guy's have a great looking forum here, I might pop in from time to time to say hello. Browsing threw the photo's section I can see there is a lot of very tasteful Zeds here!

99 isn't too bad, I have to admit I hate the standard wrap around rear wing (what ever year that was).

But personally I prefere to go with something a little less common :)

Cheers, well I've decided I'm going to get it done. My tailgate needs a respray anyway, so going to do it all at once.

 

Will get one when I'm out in Cali next week. :)

I don't know yet, any ideas what would suit it? I know the only 99 spec sideskirts are oem versions and cost a packet to buy

Stillen Type III's. The best off the shelf sideskirts IMO. Had them on mine before I went custom:

 

My Zed is pearl white and it's got a great rear spoiler

99 spec is the best rear spoiler IMO :bow:

 

The previous one that had the funny side bits almost touching the rear window were pants (sorry to those who have it ;) )

 

Go for it Si - failing that the only other option for your car would be a tailgate skin, keeping the smooth look.
