hicas light on and small amount of pas fluid on top of resivoir

I have on my 300 what seems to be a small leak on the top of my pas resivoir and the hicas light is on but it does go off now and again. Anyone got any ideas what could cause this as the seal seems ok?? Would this make the hicas light come on??

Is this anything to do with the speed sensor?? or a totally different fault??

Thanks in advance for any help.

check your fluid level and make sure the cap seal is intact on the cap.

thats about it unless you have a leak underneath?

I can't see any fluid leaking underneath and the seal seems intact, maybe i need to change the seal anyway. Any idea where's best for me to get one??

it's possible you have air trapped in the PAS system.

it will cause the oil to leak out at the cap (especially once the oil gets hot) and this in turn will trigger the hicas light, because it senses the oil level will be too low once it has spitted out too much oil.

Thanks, What's the best way for me to check and remove any air from the PAS system??
