Ok, so the tailgate on my car has been smoothed....and done badly. I'm very picky when it comes to bodywork, and if it's not perfect, I'll get it sorted.

There are areas where you can see filler in the holes, the tailgate itself also has some small dents on it.

Now, I've gotten bored of the tailgate looking so bare. I do like it, but keep seeing Zeds on the US forum with their OE 90-93 (series 1) spoilers still on...and I'm starting to like them again.

99-spec just wouldn't suit mine with it being pearl white and I've yet to make my mind up about the lip spoiler.

I know most here hate the original spoiler. But I'm wanting to keep mine original looking really.

Besides, I've always liked the original look of the Zed....afterall, it's one of the reasons I chose the car.

are you going with a fiberglass one si? yours does look nice with the spoiler on, however get the rear lid done again if your not happy then have another look at it.

you may change your mind.

i feel the white cars look good both ways and especially look good with any spoiler.

i dont think mine would ever look right with a spoiler on now

SWBs look better spoilerless, for that reason. The tailgate is small and not so long as the LWB.

I will get the fibreglass copy from ZCentre...not sure on quality of these though. I did see Gio's who'd replaced the foam one with the new fibreglass one and it seemed to fit well.

i think you get a fair bit on the edges to play with when it come to trimming them si, i wonder what it would look like though without the brake light fitting just a smoothed over look? that could be nice, or would you rather the center light?

but the good thing is that at least the wieght isnt there with the fiberglass one.

Sorry Si..but I really do feel it would ruin your car !!

Just like Nissan did when they put it on in the first place. It was designed without the spoiler at first, but were forced into it, and then afterwards they recognised how dated it looked and changed the design a few years later.

What would you suggest then? I don't think a 99-spec would suit mine...purely due to the colour.

Series II spoilers are ok...but wouldn't fit one. I want to steer well clear of high level spoilers as only a small handful of cars suit these.

I am not sure about the lip spoiler as it does not incorporate the 3rd brakelight and you loose the contour the lights give.

So I did. Tastes change I guess, might have something to do with the fact that I hadn't seen any really sweet zeds at the time, with the OE spoiler still left on. I'm still undecided. If I had any other colour, I'd probably go 99-spec route. But have seen so many nice US Zeds with them left on...

...nearly. Get rid of that black rear 1/4 looks totally out of place.

You gonna replace the wing indicators with clear ones?

....certainly have the yank style. They are into that design of exhaust.

yes when funding allows. the rear screen is also limo black so does look better when the boot is closed. tbh i don't like the tint but it will be an arse to remove.

omg!! ive just agreed to something you have said bud :headvswal :x:

You could leave the tint on the rear screen and take the rear 1/4 window ones out....I'm going to get a light tint on my rear screen once the tailgate's been repainted. :)

Si, I can see you with a honking great carbon and ally wing, 8 inches wider than the car on each side ;)

I'd sooner paint my Z brown.

i think you should put one of these spoilers on....

Can't see too much of it from that angle. Looks quite nice though. Shocking fit of that front bumper.

Leave it how it is. But if you had to make a chance then 99spec or tailgate skin:

That looks like the Venom spoiler. See MickeyB's and ScottyWills for more pics.
