It was a bit more than that, but we did split it between us. :)

 

I hate to imagine what deve8uk's fuel bill was like as he probably went twice as far as anyone else. ;)

 

I agree with paying 8 weeks in advance. It wasn't on that we had to pay for people who didn't show up at the hotel in Germany. Hopefully Nend didn't get hit for the second hotel in Amsterdam! :headvswal

 

Anyway, I may be up for it. It's a bit too early to commit at this stage though. I'd prefer to go over from Dover rather than Hull this time though and ideally spend a bit more time at the Ring when it's open to the public.

I'd personally say: ferry; hotel somewhere in the North (Amsterdam or Brugges probably); hotel near the Ring (the one we stayed in was great apart from the grumpy barman who refused to serve after midnight! ;) ); then possibly a hotel back up in the North of Europe or straight back on the ferry. :)

Actually, over on the ferry, straight to the Ring, then back via Amsterdam for a night or two may be better. Starting off with a night in the Dam slowed people down a bit! :headvswal :)

I have been working in France over the last few winters, and did the drive up to Amsterdam last year.

 

If I was thinking about organising this, I would forget Amsterdam as its such a long way out.

 

I would look at something along the lines of Dover to Bologne Sur La Mer to Germany spending a little more time visiting whores instead :-)

 

After doing the drive from the South of France to Amsterdam I can 100% say its not worth it! IMHO

Oh, and I would be up for it too.

..have done over 11500 miles in the last 6 months in my Zed half in Europe...'am looking to do "A"roads this time as we had more fun on them as a group......

 

..i do see your point btw s of france to A'dam is a long hard drive.....

Prague is only 500 miles of mainly autobahn (very, very easy in a day) from Amsterdam / Hoek Van Holland. Nurburgring is probably on the way.

 

Much closer than the south of France and no road tolls.

 

 

I'm doing it on a bike in May next year but continuing to Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Croatia and maybe more.

ChrisC went all the way there and back ....with no passport...so who no's....if your Zed is not running then jump in with one of the single driver's,,chip in for gas ,hotel and beer ..and your there .. ;)
