4 Days before USC and my water pump has packed up I think

Unless I ask the local Nissan Dealership to do it for ££££'s I am up shit creak as I doubt any other place can take it and get it back to me by Thursday. I don't want to drive more than 2-3 miles anyway.

Can the water pump be changed without removing the cambelt etc. I don't even have a crank pulley but could go and buy one now if the rest of the job was easy?

What are the basics I need to change only the pump?

Not a happy bunny at the moment :(

i did my water pump in about 4hrs inc cambelt change. as far as i can remember the belt won't need to come off, all you need is a socket set and some gasket paper or liquid gasket, not a hard job just alot of stipping down.

here is a link that might help

no pump can be done without removal of cambelt only downside is your for there and able to do the cambelt, secondly you will have lots of coolant come out of the waterpump housing when you remove it,and this will cover the camblet which in turn down the line could cause premature wear to the cambelt

yea, mine went the other day. went the whole hog & got a 120k kit with tensioners, seals, adjuster etc

as said, belt has to come off

Thanks chaps - I havn't got time to source all the bits I need to do the belt as well (plus it was only changed about 11k miles ago). Just need to get the pump out and order a new one ASAP tomorrow!

I'm going to bite the bullet and start so will try to take care with water etc.

Good news (sort of)....the rad had a hole in it and the pump looks completely dry, so a new rad should see me make it! :) :)
