Hi guys

Im getting my car dyno'd friday so it will be interesting to find out what my car is producing!

Peformance wise its stock, what BHP do you think I should expect in a TT Manual?

Anyway, what is the maximum bhp/torque the standard clutch can take?

How much would a good performance clutch cost? There seems to be a lot of talk about Smithy's RPS clutch which can handle up to 450bhp. Is this correct? How much torque can it handle?

More importantly, how much is it fitted and what other costs are involved in changing the clutch?

Thanks in advance

Colin

Stock power is 280-300 at the fly, and 230-250 at wheels. Years and mileage will have taking its a toll a little though.

I think stock clutch starts to struggle at around 350 ib/ft, depending on condition.

on the TT bhp normally equals about the same torque. so RPS Sport is around 450ib/ft

Costs would be around £150-£200 labour, and worth getting the rear main seal (£10) done at same time. Could also consider lightweight flywheel at same time too.

Just wondering when my clutch is gonna give out now im running at 407Bhp and 402ibft torque... As far as i'm aware it's a stock clutch and have all the back receipts for any work that has ever been done on my car by the previous owners... I remember when speaking to Royal at last years meet his car was on the standard clutch too...

I fried 2 stock clutches with only a boost upgrade (running approx 330bhp). Since upgrading the clutch I've not had any problems though

I've done boost upgrades on loads of Z's and most of them fry the clutch within days.

So that probably means around 330bhp ish if it's part worn.
