All,

I am now really confused.

You get a UK 300zx turbo or non-turbo

The Japanese equivalent is a Fairlady? Is that right?

Also, an insurer has just told me that the Fairlady is a Twin T and the UK is just a single Turbo? Does that mean that there is a UK Twin T as well as a UK single T?

I just want to sort out my insurance and do not want to quote the wrong bloody car as I previously mentioned, a UK car 300zx Turbo will cost me around £350, whilst the cheapest I have got a Fairlady for is £850!!!

HEEEELLLLLLLPPPPP all I want is a Zed!!!

fairlady is japanese name for 300zx. The Z32 ONLY came in non-turbo and twin-turbo; he is pulling up details for the Z31 which was a single turbo.

he needs to find details for the 90-96 300zx/ fairlady (even though in japan it is officially 90-99, it still shows the same model years as uk)

Dont know much about the UK models, I have a Jap Spec 300zx TT (Fairlady) and yes the Fairlady is a Twin Turbo.

Read allow about the Zeds: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_300ZX

I have just turned 24, got 4 years NCB discount and am insured with A-Plan for £1600, which I think was pretty good considering my age. They allow pretty much any mods expect Nitrox I think. Try them, they should give you a good quote. Their number is 08450711234, which is the Thatchum department and specialise in jap imports. They do have a website!

They were by far the cheapest, cheaper than Adrian Flux! Also, Adrian Flux dont cover coil overs and I have coilovers!

If you've given him the year and he came back with a single turbo, then either their computer is wrong, or he's a numpty who can't read, either way I'd take this as a warning for the future regarding any problems you might have, ie; if you have an accident and need to claim, this already shows that they are fookin useless!!

So, personally, on my own dealings with insurance companies in the past, if they can't even get the quote bit right, how the hell do you think they perform when you REALLY need them?

Best bet find someone else ;) You hear sooooooo many stories of insurance companies totally under performing when the *** hits the fan, and finding ANY excuse not to pay out! Obviously I'm sure you won't need to claim, bu I'm sure you'd feel better knowing that everything will be OK if you do.

IMHO anyway ;)

Adrian Flux dont cover coil overs!

Hmm, fairlady is just what they call them in Japan, they come in turbo and non turbo variants.

I am insured with Adrian Flux and I have Tein Coilovers (declared everything to them).

The person I spoke to at Adrian Flux didn't know what Coilovers were. So I told them that its adjustable suspension but it replaces the existing suspension. They checked with management and rang me back saying if its aftermarket suspension they don't cover it. They said they do cover lowered suspension i.e. new springs! :(

Anyway, I didnt take any chances and went with A-Plan who were cheaper anyway!

You're worrying me now! LOL.

I didn't try A-plan, maybe I will next year...

Insurance is crap really. They have everyone tied over a barrel! Even if you do everything by the book, they would still try and wriggle out of a claim! They are just a business at the end of the day :( and we get the short end of the stick! Mainly due to all the chavs that drive without insurance. Makes me mad!

Yeah i agree. I managed to get insured with hyperformance for 800 quid tpft.

Im 22 with 3 years NCD and a clean licence.

They didnt seem to have a clue but quoted well cheap so i went for it.

I was doing the quote and they forgot to ask me to reg of the car!

had to give it them at the end, also they never asked if it was an import so i think they may have it down as a uk model! It doesnt say anyway on my policy or schedule if its an import or not so what am i meant to do?!

i am 23 and isure my uk tt with adrian flux and that only cost me 800ish notes 1600 seems ottttttt

Do remember mine is a Jap Import with expensive mods. Also they said if I was to increase the car to 400bhp, they would only charge an extra £120

Also it depends on your area. Im on outskirts on London, which is probably more expensive than say York or something

All Uk cars are 2+2, targa twin turbos, as Sanchez said above.

And if you're thinking of ignoring your insurance company's errors/ommissions to keep your premium low, DON'T! :smash:

Make sure they know EVERYTHING and have the right car covered, whether it's an old Z31 or an import etc. Declare ALL modifications too.

Failure to do so will invalidate your cover in the event of a claim. OK you may only lose a £3000 car but if you hit a 3d party and it's your fault you will be in the shit. At best you would face prosecution for being uninsured and maybe get sued by the 3rd party.

At worst, don't bend over for the soap.......

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Jap imports start at 1989 so this is where they get

the single turbo z31 from on there listings. It took me ages

to get through to them that the z32 tt was 89
