Brum Z meet? Baffled???

Danny,

Can you justify why you charged certain members cars 10 squid odd for using a pub car park when they weren't having any food???

FFS, Z meets are about meeting up with like minded chums and not about making money!

Last two meets I've been to have been at GPS(Johnny boys) and Chester, if we wanted food at the pub then fair enough we just ordered it!

So I would love to know why you have charged some people for just turning up! mad.gif

lol, while we are all at it.

great meet, but A: why did we have to pay for parking????

B:The food was KAK full stop. I wouldent feed my hamster half of what was laid on there.

not trying to take the piss or anything but i thought the rest stop food place was expensive at £5 for a meal. frown.gif

£10 = food & well worth it, it was, as much as we could pile on a plate buffet - main & sweet.

The only person to leave early was Matty the football hero. & i thought he made his commitments clear?

Matt, after that much red bull in 1/2 an hour no wonder you won - 'sweet'.

Matty - league champions 'A' you'll be 'ref' in a couple of years mate!

harve

Warren - Dave, were we eating the same food?

Dave, Warren & me are pushing 15 stone in 6 foot plus ! of hight!

Sit nearer the top table perhaps coz ours was fine. race ya next time - on foot only! lol.

Harve,

I did make my point clear when Danny asked me for my £10, I told him I wouldn't be eating due to me leavin early and me not eating before a game, he said "It's for the Car Park, as it has been put aside for us" so I didn't want to argue the toss and paid.

Just annoyed it cost me £10 to park my car in a public car park!

frown.gif

I thought it was per head on the food, not per parking space!

Matty.

Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce... (sorry no sound!) LOL

I'm only 2 months old on this forum so my opinion is worthless compared to the long-standing members (fnaar) but give Danny a break. Or organise your own meet (which I'm sure we will all be happy to support).

I just checked back - Danny's posts on the meet have always said it was a £10 for the buffet. If people wanted to come, not pay the buffet and pay for their own food, what's the problem?

I think he organised a great day and I look forward to the next.

PS never met the guy before in my life.

closetothezx2.jpg

Bottom line is that Danny did the organising, got the landord to arrange food for n people, which had to be paid for, whether it was eaten or not and would have taken the hit personally had no-one showed. Everyone knew the deal up front, live with it.

Peace smile.gif

Before anyone jumps on my case.......I never said it was a bad meet, It was a terrific turn out on a hot (ish) sunny day!

but maybe I should have parked in the other part of the carpark then......as I wasn't stopping.

Hands up who else didn't eat but paid for a parking space........

Oh.....you all paid for the food only.....As my previous post reads, the £10 was per head for the food (my understanding) not for a parking space, Which is why I am having a bit of a moan.

So if there were 50 people that ate, that's £500, I don't think that the food laid on cost that much (but what do I know I have never catered for anyone)

Was a profit made? must have been, where has it gone, back into this forum I hope!

Oh and one last thing......who had my plate full of food.......I paid for it I want it back, that's theft you know..LOL.. biggrin.gif

Danny you arranged a blinder of a day and to be honest, better I think than any other meet I`ve been to.

We have all been there, in the past out for a meal and it`s disapointing in either service or quality but hey it happens.

DANNY your in a no-win situation here in as far as the food was out of your control on this occassion but you will have more power next time

However let`s get this all in to perspective the day was a 150% success and I for one would not have had the time and dedication to set it up so who am I to moan.

No offense meant to anyone just an opinion

Well done Danny

yeah gain it was, good but no better than TRAX, and those that organised it, made 0 on it, no better than dyno day, and those that organised that made well errmmm -£87 biggrin.gif

SO you cant really say, that (not flaming danny) or anything but he did come up to tooley and myself and said the £10 squid was for parking and the food. I dearly hope im not going to a meet to pay for jeff tt's Honda stickers. biggrin.gif

All im saying at the end of the day, A 300zx Meet SHOULD NOT be there to make money of the members, but rather to share ideas and get to see some nice cars.

£10 pounds we could go to the Shell rest stop on the way up, park for free and have a diverse choice of BURGER KING, KENTUCKY, AND THE REST STOP RESTUARANT TO NAME JUST 3 and none of them would have your bill at £ pounds per head.

Just a thought.

hmmmm heres my bit for what its worth, i did think £10 was a bit on the steep side for a buffet, but then again i had a good time that day, so what price do you put on that and im very grateful to danny for taking the time to organise it for us. At the end of the day i got to meet a few new faces, saw 30 zeds in one place the weather was great all in all i reckon it was worth a tenner for a day out.(not including go go juice)

Jeff, im sure Tooley would have looked round first before he did it

I know that these is a principle here somewhere but come on guys some of the MPG conversations that were going on on saturday the £10 charge is about 2 gallons of petrol ie 34 miles in your Z!!!! bet youd give that up to the petrol companys without any complaints. also you wana go to some motor museums and pay £20 to get in and get no food. possibly buy a hotdog at the NEC £5, i could go on. By the way the car park of the pub is privet land not public and you could have been asked to leave at any time if the landlord felt that we were causing a problem. so for danny to get this even off the ground i see as a major 10 out of 10 and sod the £10 your still alive!!!!!!

Well first off , you have to pay petrol, its not a choice is it?

Secondly jeff, Tooley was pretty carefull about it and it was done when all the cars were beign moved for the photoshoot, so any people who did not have there kids under control would have been to blame.

Besides it was at least something to make the day a bit exciting, hell we all drive sportscars, yet just want to sit and stare at them in a parking lot?

Warren you may be right.

I wasn't there but it looks to me like you paid up front for a buffet for X number of people and to give you all an empty car park for the day. Fair enough if you ask me.

If you hadn't had the reserved parking you would have a load of Nova's between your Z's on every photo. Surely thats worth a tenner alone? LOL

yeah well ive just added myself to the list youve been there since the day you put HONDA Stickers on the side of your car.

The point i was trying to make was that there were 30 cars all on the move so they could take a photo. So any one of you could have hit a kid running around. And if you have kids and did not have control of them running around in a parking lot with moving vehicles then who is to blame. Oh always the other person. frown.gif

What of the guy in the M3 coup BEEMER, nothing said there because he was a friend ? or you just did not see it through the glare of your bacofoil ?

my two penneth if you please......i never intended paying as i didnt want any food but on being told i had to as we were paying for the car park i didnt want to put danny in a bad situation with the landlord. danny is not the one thats slapped us here its the landlord as how many pub car parks do you know charge you to park while you drink in their boozer which i for one got 6 drinks for various peeps.....if we did pay for the parking than that made the car park a private area for us which in my book made the car park fair game for antics although i wasnt doing it with such reckless endangerment as jeff would have you believe if you really think i did what i did without first looking for anybody being near including the white z ure more foolish than in your opinion my supposed self..i can see some people having a go over the parking when in all fairness for i know what it cost me just to get there and i could have gone to brands hatch for less but this doesnt take away for me what was a good day out.......but having said this if this is the kind of grief you get count me out in future i'll stick to partying at duffmans and the mighty strawberry blonde one as i'm not labeled anything at their do's. see you all at billing and we can chat about it then cant we

Tooley mate.

Theres always someone ready to appoint themselves "Moral guardian of the public".

Were you approached and called a Prat on the day or was it all done whilst hiding behind a keyboard?
