Not much, but I'm getting the tailgate and rear bumper resprayed soon as there are belmishes on them and I want the thing to look as near-perfect as possible.

Can't decide if I want to keep the smooth de-spoilered look of mine. I like it, but something's telling me to possibly go lip spoiler. I do like those, but unfortunately, you loose the 3rd brakelight. 99-spec rear spoiler (as much as I like them) I don't think would look right on it, but that's only down to the colour of the car.

So maybe I'll keep it as it is. What's people's thoughts on this? I'm not talking the wiper off. Like to leave as much OE functionality on the thing as possible and besides, I don't want redundant switch-gear.

I quite like this, its understated and looks like it could be factory fitted.

That is nice. Was unaware the Strosek rear spoiler was like that.

I like the tailgate lip(obviously!) as for the brake light, that's why I did mine

just like the small 'spoiler' of the skin, but that me! :wack:

How did you do that then? I was thinking of doing something along those lines...

As mentioned I've removed the stonechip all round, but as it is a protector for chips in the paint from stones (You don't say???!!!) I also have the thick rubber mud spats on as well, so it's not a problem.

I've got to admit that I do like the 99 rear spoiler, but then I would ;)

Oh, and I'm having the pin stripping replaced, as soon as can get hold of some :D

I would have the the stone chip removed, makes the car look a lot more modern.

Then I would fit a 99 spec front bumper, and then leave the exterior alone.

My car before things took a nice turn into the Twilight zone of modifying ('scuse the hastily zip tied number plate ;) ):

Nissan OEM '99 spec front bumper fitted and modified to widen the front airdam.

Nissan OEM J-Spec rear bumper remodeled.

Stillen Type III side skirts fitted, smoothed and blended into the bodywork.

De-locked.

De-handled.

De-swaged.

De-badged.

De-spoilered and smoothed tailgate.

"Stone protection" smoothed in all round.

Solenoid "popper" button fitted in both wing mirrors to open the doors.

Rear wiper removed and smoothed.

Fuel filler cap removed , smoothed over and re-sited in boot.

Aerial removed and smoothed over.

Side repeaters removed and smoothed.

Washer jets removed, smoothed and re-sited.

These mods weren't OTT IMO and could be done by someone not wanting to go too mad with the exterior and end up with a smooth almost "factory fit" look.

NICE! Is that pearl white? You got anymore pics of it? Bumper looks fantastic!

I reckon you should put a ruddy great spoiler on the back , get 25inch wheels (chrome of course), Also maybe convert it to a pickup??

Helpfully Dave

Right thats it i was planning this for my zed can you stop giving away my new project!.......lol na mine is diff get 29 inch wheels and change to a flatbed.

thanks, the car is actually a uk spec tt, completely resprayed in nissan white ( not pearl ) The bumper is just a jap spec one, ( didnt like the fogs in a uk one ) with the horrible stone chip smoothed out ...wanted to keep oem look..not a big fan of mad kits..

That does look good. So crisp!

Agreed, I'm never one for mad bodykits. Some pull them off though, but for my own car, stuble is best.

......... stuble is best.

Yeah, I can't stand being clean shaven

Anyway Si, back to your car. I do like the 99 spec rear spoiler and I think it would look mighty fine on your ZX.

Although the smooth look does suit the pearl white better than most other colours.............

That was no help really, was it?

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Have decided, it's staying smooth. Going to get a new perspex panel, remove the bottoms of the bumpers of nasty 'school chair finish' and will lower it a bit. Job done as far as bodywork goes. Looking forward to getting the paintwork done as the rear bumper and tailgate have always had a hideous finish to it.

Just detail after that. My wipers have been repainted in satin, the window trims look like new, so don't need replacing. I'd be horrified if they started peeling to chrome.

Just the scuttle panel after that to be replaced with a new one to give the outside a really crisp, fresh and new look to it.

...one thing I still haven't got round to doing though, is fitting a Nissan Primera rear wiper arm. Would bring the arse end a little up to date I think.

Chunky plastic modern one which is the same shape and angle of the Z.

nissan_primera_06_01_05.jpg

Good decision Si, as much as I love the rear 99 spec, I still have a soft spot for the smooth look. Subtle as the 99 spec rear may be, I'm considering removing mine back to original. your Z is really sweet, but a 99 spec front would finish it I reckon. Pearl white............still my fave colour after red

primera rear wiper looks good, any more info on suitability or fitting?

Thanks chewie. I'm one of those strange people that actually likes the standard front bumper. If ever I do change anything, it will be to get the Stillen bumper skirts.

Will try and get an update on the wiper.
