JAE is almost upon us, and once again it will be the annual AGM, your chance to have your say face to face with the committee.

 

Unfortunately it seems alot of members are unable to make both days of JAE weekend, but wish to ask a question to the committee.

 

So to be fair, any member who has a question, but may not be available to ask it, are welcome to PM me thier question, or post it up here.

 

I warn you all now, this thread is not for debate of any questions, it is specificly to ask, any posts that are not questions to the committee will be deleted.

I cant see myself making JAE what with the amount of work i have on at present, just incase i cant ake it, could you please put this across for me

 

Will the committee be looking for more volunteers to help run the club, since i joined last year i have seen numerous new names appear yet the same amount on the committee, would it be viable to take on more people to help reduce the work load on the guys that are doing it now?

When it comes to the committee elections wouldnt it be fair to have other members run for the same role, maybe some new blood with fresh ideas may help .. to take place in the private forums where only paying members have a vote .. this might help in getting some of the registered members to subscribe?

 

In no way shape or form is this a rant about committee members that currently do a great job

 

Remember Guys these chaps do this work for nothing .. so they deserve some respect IMHO

Am at JAE Saturday only, so hence the following points please chaps.

 

As with John above, can we have say a "term" that ALL committe members serve, say approx 12-18 months, this allows new members to bring new fresh ideas and help to prevent things becoming stagnant.

 

Can we look towards more protection/help for members purchasing from traders if something goes wrong, if I could propose the following.

Traders are advised that part of their trading conditions that they apply themselves to the TLO's guidelines. 1) A member shall expect a responce from the trader to any issues/problems within 7 days max.

A member should be able to have a responce from the committe within 7 days over their greivances.

The trader and member should abide by the committees decision after investigation has been complete and neither party should spout on teh forum about it, however either party are open to take any course of action outside the forum.

Traders should not use stealth mode during the above times.

I believe by adopting the above we can prevent the belief that moderators are heavily protected and many of the threads/posts seen in the past 12months where members were clearly unhappy and frustrated leading to unneccesary bans can be a thing of the past.

 

If a subscribed member is banned for a long period of time ( to be dertermined) and has been a member for at least 12months, can the committe please advise all members in a simple statement, this then prevents some of the usual threads asking ??? which also results in slanging matches.

 

Can the club use professional outside services for the likes of calenders, member packs and Tee shirts etc, funds would be returned via sales anyway and it saves relying on fellow friends who get the stick if it all goes wrong.

 

IMO as this club is growing with more members all the time, the risk of problems increases, despite you guys doing a good job, preventative measures will ensure better morale and good feeling all round.

I'm really looking forward to JAE myself.

 

In case I forget / am drunk / bottle it, here's my questions:

 

1) Can we make big decisions with a on-line polls rather than an the AGM?

 

This seems fairer as not everyone can make it to the AGM and not everyone wants to raise their hand. On-line polls are extremely convenient and fair. I also think this was raised (by Jock) and voted on and passed last year - but I could be wrong.

 

 

 

2) Could we have somewhere, maybe in the members forums when bans are recorded with the length and reason for all paid up members to see?

 

I think the transparency this would provide would be a benefit to everyone.

 

 

 

 

3) Could the club somehow get one of those model reports so we can bring in 1999 onwards cars?

 

It's a long shot I know and expensive - but the benefits would be massive and we could rent it out to recoup the money.

i think the AREA organiser need's a bit more help ...he/she can't be at every meet ....

 

so i think a little more help on the cover side i.e. a number 2 and number 3 to cover meet's and run's..when the AREA org can't make it ....

If that trader is not even answering the TLO's attempted contact regarding the problem surely he should not be trading as he has no excuse for not replying as he has internet access etc which is very obvious and he knows exactly whats going on.

To be honest Lee, if this is going as far as you pointed out in another thread then its gone past the TLO and you shouldnt be discussing it on here as you will do more harm than good.

 

the TLO is there to help but they can only do so much buddy.

There has been a letter sent from the solicitor, i have also spoken to mac and shunter about the situation and i am giving them the opportunity to resolve this also.

Besides that the trader has breached the agreement not to trade in things that others are already trading in etc too.

I would hope that it can be sorted out without taking it to the next stage but if not then it'll be worse for both of us really
