Kev,

There are many different spoilers available.

If you want the standard Nissan one and the one you have now is still in good shape, apart from the faded/cracked paint, just have it resprayed.

If you need a new one go to a junkyard or order a brand new spoiler at Nissan Courtesy in the US (usually half the price of UK/EURO-dealers)

If you want something completely different, then take a look at the links-section of e.g.

Paul Bailey in the UK has a few different spoilers available

at last someone else who wants to keep his fairlady sticker on the back.any decent graphics shop will make one for you if u still have the old template

Hi Kev,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Z ownership hehe.

This seems a very common problem, Altho im not sure if it occurs if your car still has the stock factory paint work.

Basically take it to a reasonable bodyshop and you need polymerized paint or some such painty gizmo type thing that will not crack when the nasty stock spoiler expands and contracts.

If you wanna look after market there are plenty out there.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT repaint...replace.

Before 94, Nissan used some CRAP foam to make the wings...these wings will trap humidity, and start to "rot" from inside out, turning the foam into some "rust like" powder.

In winter, the trapped water turns into ICE...expans...and cracks the paint....you can repaint as much as you want, the next time it'll be freezing, your wing will be cracked....

Replace it...I know. I had this problem in my Red Z, and now in my Black Z....

Henri

I have this problem and can't decide whether to respray or replace.

Are there many wings that use the stock mounts to avoid plugging the factory holes ?

Glenn

Thanks for the advice on respraying, I was going to get a quote as mine is also cracked think I will get a new aftermarket spoiler I like the look of SE monza .are these wings just bolted on ? I think I saw somewhere that they were also bonded? if so what with?

Hi,

My import NA has a replacement fibreglass rear spoiler that the previous owner fitted, due to the moisture problem, which can rot the rear hatch too.It is the same size and shape as the stock item, but is much lighter(the factory item is very heavy),and doesn't craze!

However, the paint has started to bubble, and lift slightly in places.(probably due to the airflow at speed?)

where can i get the fairlady badge cause mine was stolen by thieving scum,

i think it looks cool.

i want my badge back

ha ha

I have a nice new fairlady badge still in its wrapper.

You can get one from Courtesy but the shipping will cost more than the badge.

Maybe I can get you one when I place an order next.
