Hello People!

Some may remember that I had a large amount of trouble with my new zed from the moment I bought it in October! Guess what it still doesn't go properly

I have had the engine gearbox and turbos from a different car put in and hundreds of pounds worth of other work done but it still aint right damn it! The work was carried out by a reputable firm but it never comes home with me totally driveable.

Anyway I just wondered if any kind sole could help my mechanic friend.....who has never worked on a zed.... to try and get it fixed for me it smokes badly when even mildly thrashed and then constantly afterwards. Breather pipes were mentioned among other things.

I'll be honest I don't have a clue about these engines and I'm going back to work in London today leaving the car at my parents house in Birmingham.

I don't know any of you personally as I've not been able to come to any meets yet. I would gladly pay for the work to be done just getting sick and tired of this car which has now cost in excess of £7000 and still can't be used.

Thanks

Rob

7K!! feck you could of bought mine for less!! not that that helps. Deffo do the PCV valves. Did all the other hoses and stuff get replaced when the engine was done. Also what was the state of the other engine/turbos? do you know for definate they were ok and not smoking??

I got all the engine swap done at Zedworld the engine had been re-built along with the gearbox about 20000 miles ago it came from Peter (Sequentialtwinturbo). Jeff confirmed that he tested the engine and that the turbos were very new.

I can't understand how there can be a problem if it was all checked...just my luck or lack of it.

Nearly a year since I bought it and less than 500 miles mild enjoyment.

I give up.

Tell your mate to do a compression check before anything else, just to confirm state of engine.

Yeah as Manta said, start right at the basics and go from there. Check the compression first. Then go from there

Compression test was fine disovered it was only firing on 5 but that was sorted last week. If it is a problem with the breathers (i don't know if thats right) is this difficult/expensive?

Thanks

Rob

About £60 for the valves and pipes mate but I think I'd pull em' first, just to check condition, also, remove the balance bar and see if there is oil in the plenum.

What went on the old engine BTW?

melted piston and blown tubs. Apparently the boost was hiked up way too much and I didn't know when I bought it. 22psi apparently....guy obviously wanted to impress.

Damn my luck!
