I found this 1991 v6 twin turbo 300zx, it has 38k miles on the car but theres a slight problem, its been side swiped. I was wondering if these cars are unibodys or panels? So i knew if its going to be hard or expensive to fix if i buy this car. The guy is asking 4 grand for it but im going to offer him 3. Let me know if its panel or uni and worth buying or not. thanks!

yeah well the twin turbos over here are really hard to find and really expensive. Found one up north of me bout 200 miles or so and the guy wants 9,000 dollars for it and it has 137k miles on it...thing is about shot. But this one has 38k miles and its only 3,900 dollars with a slight damage on the side lol. What does SWB mean? i probably know just cant think at the moment. Anyone know a website where i can buy used or new quarterpanels? Thanks for the quick replies, guess this thread kinda blew up on me lol

wide arch it.......

swb =short wheel base ie 2 seater

probably find most of what you want here, lots of us have used them and excellent http://www.courtesyparts.com/

not sure if they do panels, but im sure they will tell you who do

otherwise ebay usa

A new quarter is not that big a job , but looking at the picture , there is quite good access to that area of the quarter, it could be repairable , i have to repair worse than that most weeks . HTH :D

A possibility for sure is to fit a Wide Arch kit at the rear, hence no need to repair the rear quarter, as its not seen.

Will require wider wheels and tyres though.

Maybe not the thing to do if you are not going to keep the car long term.

Try the traders section on here. Dont know how much it would be to ship a 2nd hand quarter panel to you over there, but I have just received a top dash panel for an 84 K5 Blazer, About 6ft long and almost 2ft wide.

Price for delivery was, $112 and it came from Georgia.

Alan.........

Wide arch it? Not really knowing what you're meaning by that, or is it like a wide body kit? If it is a wide body kit how low from the ground would it be, cause i cant go much lower than stock cause all the damn hills here..

thanks for the replies and help guys, i appreciate it

There weren't any quarterpanels on that site you gave me billynomates but i wont give up. fill me in if you find any! :-p

no i didnt know if the kit would lower the car because of the size of the kit lol some body kits make the car lower bumper height and im not wantin that. That one wide body kit is BAD ASS! damn thats sweet, but from the pic of the car i showed you thats messed up, do you think it will cover all of that old damage? How hard would it be to put that kit on, and do i only need the wide body kit thats there or do i need the Metal Rear Arch Repair Panels (Pair) ? just curious.

ok guys, ive been like a little kid in a candy store on that site..im so excited i cant sit still..i believe im going with that wide body kit, aka wide arches you guys called it? but i need to know if i neeed that repair crap above it, the Metal Rear Arch Repair Panels (Pair), the Metal Rear Sill Return Panels (Pair), or the Metal Rear Sill Rtn Reinforcements (pair)? what the heck are they and do i need them for the wide arches? The scarab front bumper just looks clean to me, and the 4pot lambo rearlights. The car will be all black, trying to black it completely out, then eventually get gun metal rims

but in american dollars i calculated it to come to 1624 dollars without s/h and taxes. SO hopefully i can get it all for 2 grand..hopefully! any thoughts?

oh yeah, wow im posting alot tonight, but whats the lug pattern for this car? And if i get the wide arches whats the suggested width rim and tire set up i should get?

Have you had a chat with Luke at zcenter mate. He'll be able to answer your questions re the kits he sells. He's very helpful.

Dave

I emailed the sales department and inquires department on the prices, but im checking my email right now for his response

I've got most of those parts on my car.

The Scarab front is a copy of the Greddy Gracer and a good choice ;)

The Strosek / Paul Bailey wide body kit and rear bumper should cover things without needing the original quarter panel but your body shop would need to use a fair bit of filler to level it off by the look of the damage.

The standard panel is cut and bent up to support the wide arch panel anyway so no problem there, it's just where it blends in to the rear of the car might need a bit of filler etc to sort it.

If you blend in the side skirt to the rear panel like mine then I think you'd have it all covered.

Wheels need to be something like 18"x10" rears along with a bolt on hub spacer.

Love your car man, is it a 2+2 or swb? Cause the wide arches talked about the swb only having one hole in the kit. No one ever answered if i needed all that support bogus stuff listed above the arches onthat site :-/ And the guy there emailed me back saying i have to order it first to knowwhat the shiiping is? all i need is a rough estimate!? lol
