are R33's better for the 300zx or R34's...??????

 

i will be using NOS on the car too....

Both the same mate, the 34 has bigger mounting holes but thats about it, same calipers except for colour, same discs and pads.

Oh and that's GTR ones only, any others ain't worth it.

hay wozzer would deffo be intrested in the brakes if you have some for sale im running a 100 bhp shot wizard of nos kit thay are deffo the best great on the phone for technical advise i have done alot of research on fitting the wizard kit and can help you if you like yes i should be at jae can show you how its all set up then if you want give me a ring and i can tell you every thing thay told me:D i will be running 150 shot at the pod in october if all goes well i also have spare jets and things to get you started if you need them which you will do ;)

Just fitted my r33 based big brake kit today from smithy

After some jerk at my local garage tried to install in wrong and gave up :xxx: I did it myself today.

 

I went high end and got mine based on the DBA series 5000 discs :cool: :bow:

and I am well happy with the increase in performance........

Did you have the r33 calipers or did you use brackets to with the stock calipers?

I had some R33 calipers from a breakers but decided to use my stock calipers as they are exactly the same...........

 

I will keep and eye out for some brembos but they are hard to come by

If you want Brembos, last time I looked there were 3 sets on http://www.gtr.co.uk in the classifieds, it's where I picked mine up. Not seen them yet (gone directly to ztech) so I can't say if they're the same to look at, you've got me worried now though :x:

Don't mean to worry you bud but as far as i can see R33 calipers are exactly the same as series 2 300zx calipers. :mad:

Vspec ones (the brembos) are much more substantial.

One of the specialists will know how much different.

The info would help as for example now I have the spacers fitted and my 324mm R33 fitment DBA discs I do not know what it would take to fit skyline brembo calipers? different spacers?

Just to reiterate something here, if you have a set of 33 calipers which look the same as series 2 Zed ones, then they are not GTR ones bud. 33 and 34 GTR calipers are both brembos, 33 being black and the 34 being gold, both will just bolt on our hubs with GTR sized discs no problem.

R32 and pretty much all the other Skyline calipers like GTS etc will look similar to our Zed ones though.

think you have the wrong end of the stick!!

 

the spacers are to space your 300zx calipers or the skyline non brembo calipers out to allow for bigger discs.

 

you will need to remove the spacers and just fit the brembo gtr calipers onto the oem bolt holes and they will fit the 324mm discs like a glove :)

As Kirbz said mate :)

The GTR brembos will now just plonk right on your hubs and you can then re sell the brackets to someone else to upgrade.. assuming you come across some GTR ones that is :)
