EVERY time I spend ages cleaning my car, the very next morning it's got a thin layer of dirt.

Doesn't seem to matter which wax I use, what time of year etc. it just looks slightly dirty a few hours after cleaning. This isn't helped by the fact that a tree partially overlooks my parking spot.

Just wondering if anyone's got any suggestions... (and no I'm not changing the colour).

thanks.

snx.

Buy a garage? I use car wipes on my purple one. Give it a quick wipe over before i go off somewhere and give it a good wax every few weeks

Suggestions -

Trim back the tree

Cover the car after cleaning and waxing

Never bother to wash it ever again

Mines Dark Grey and have the same problem, but on our black car it certainly shows up more after it's had a good waxing.

Just have a few beers and forget about it, then you'll not notice it as much :D

every time i clean mine it bloody rains!! given up for the time being. :(

lol, fell for this a few times myself. Whenever it's hot&sunny, give the car a good clean, next thing u know... storms!

So now when it's hot and sunny, i just wait for the rain, THEN clean the car.

Also getting a car cover is not really an option as it's my daily drive, and would become a hassle.

I guess it really is impossible to keep it clean, thing is I see other black cars like beemers etc in my neighbourhood, they dont seem to get dirty as quick. My wife's 2001 Polo (red) ALWAYS look clean and shiny, even when not washed for months... wtf???

Cut the tree down

Bloody things only cause polution

Look at the rainforest, when that was up there was animal sh1t everwhere

now its been cut down its all gone, PROOF that tree's cause sh1t

:o

Get it resprayed another colour

:headvswal thats what i first thought when i saw this thread!! great minds and all that.

btw i have a black z and the answer you are looking for is NO!! get a car cover for it .. i purchased that meguire complete wash system ,spent 5 hours washing, restoring polishing then waxing my car only to come back the next morning to a car completly covered in sap!!!!!!!!!

if you find the miracle cure please let me know

keep a black Z clean lol your joking right?? i gave up long since fighting a lost battle

Mine is always clean, but that's because I use it only when the weather is nice. Lives in a garage under a dust sheet the rest of the time.

get your self a "flash" washing system mate  allso what i found with my car was when i got it proffesionly (spelling lol) buffed it was just a case of rinse and dry to get the thing clean but yea a black car looks the dogs but is a bugger to keep looking good :(

^^ I agree with ZNut.

Get the car professionally detailed and corrected to get the paint in A1 condition (no swirls/scratches etc.) and use a Flash car wash system when you wash it. Once it's dry use a product such as Meguiars Quik Detail spray to give it a polish using a microfibre cloth which will reduce the surface static on the car, meaning dust won't be attracted to it so much.

HTH :)

Good advice there thanks! Might sound silly, but I did think of the wipes idea, used the tesco general car wipes, but they leave streaks. Would be great if the had external car wipes, so u could always have that polished look.

I use armor all car wash wipes and they don't streak. Usually only takes two wipes to do a whole car too.

£3.99 for ten

Ive thought of this too - since i've already used the same wipes to do my wheels..

do you hose/wash the car first then use the wipes or just get straight to it with them?

Thanks

My black zed is hard to keep clean too and I keep it in a garage.

I find it quickly builds up a layer of dust, but I have found that once you have washed the car, its best to leather it so there is no water for the dust to stick to.

Also, when I drive to work, I park away from the trees otherwise I get all kinds of weird tree juice over it.
