Ive been looking out for a SWB TT zed for a while now and have eventually found a nice looking one come up on eBay. Its fairly local to me too!! Any idea as to how much its worth cos i dont want to be paying stupid money.

Any advice would be appreciated

Prices vary, but Manual SWB TT's tend to go for anything from stupid momey like £3.5k up to £5.5k in standard'ish form.

Its a 89 so £4k - £4.5k would be a fair price IMO in todays market, depending on condition. It would be worth taking another zed enthusiast along who knows what to look out for too.

4k would be right at the top end of my budget so will keep my fingers crossed.

Cheers

Its flea bay so will probably only reach 3 to 3.5k although I agree it actually worth 1k more if its as described, make sure you take it for a long run and look over it as best you can before you bid tho. :)

It wont do any harm to go and have a look (and of course a drive). If it is in really good nick then £4k is probably as much as I would be willing to pay.

Bear in mind that you need to have some money spare in your account in case the turbos go or the suspension needs renewing. :(

But it is a SWB TT manwell. it doesn't get much better than that...

Why are SWB so revered when even the cars designers said that the 2+2 is the better handler of the two?

(2+2 is perfect 50 / 50 weight distribution)

Is is rarity value?

Does the weight reduction mean performance is that much better?

I do not understand the SWB is better angle but maybe I am missing something..........

Personally, I love not being able to take people in the back. Yes I'm a :xxx: LOL

Some of the more argumentative members on here will tell you it's because proper sports cars only have 2 seats! and that they didn't want to drive a family saloon car! ROFLMFAO...
