Driving me mad, mr popular with neighbours at 6am driving through the estate.

 

on of the belts for either the power steering or alternator is squealing like a bitch still.

Takes about 5 mins of driving before it stops then when you put some power down it squeals again!!!!

 

Tried WD40 and it doesnt work anymore (did at first)

Belts are both tight prob too tight now in fact - Stopping by a garage to have it slackened off

 

Someone said they used 3 ribs opposed to 4 for the power steering - I thought unorthodox was 4 ribbed.

 

from what I remember the alternator is a proper gates belt but the power steering is a cheap jobbie.

I think its the alternator belt thats squeaking though!

 

Any ideas?

Smithy (if you read this) - what are the 2 belts you sell with this mate? just to make sure I got right sizes etc

Right here yer go fella, full list of the belts that come with underdrive pullies and the only gates belt i supply is the alt one for the UK spec TT's, the rest are all genuine nissan.

 

Nissan PN# '90-'93 TT: A172M-59SSAVW, '94+ TT & all NAs 11950-32F10 Power Steering

Nissan PN# A195M-97E0MVW Alternator

Nissan PN# A192M-42LSAVW A/C

OR...;

Gates PN# '90-'93 TT: 040350 '94+ TT & all NAs: 030350 Power Steering

Gates PN# 040390 Alternator

Gates PN# 040365 A/C

OR generics...

'90-'39 TT: 4 rib 35", '94+ TT & all NAs: 3 rib 35" Power Steering

4 rib 39" Alternator

4 rib 36.5" A/C

thats it mate, and if you want to go generics then it;s

power sterring 4 rib 35" =890mm

Alt 4 rib 39" = 990mm

Now that should be you sorted and you know where to come if buy another Zed and do the same mod :D
