DOH DOH DOH, lol

 

Had an air con man round cause I thought it was outta gas.

Gas was fine.

But the pump wasnt running.

 

Checked the relay and that was ok.

Found that the earth on that relay wasnt switching. So we ran it to earth and the pump came on. Only problem was then I couldnt turn it off on the buttons.

 

Checked the pressure switch, that seems ok. I think when he bridged it out the pump came on, but again had no control on the buttons.

 

Checked the buttons on the console and when pressing ECON on and off (with AUTO on), its sending a signal to somewhere.

 

 

What else was funny was that the electric fan never came on at all???? I thought it was suppose to come on as soon as you turn AC on??

 

Also what looks bad is that doesnt the ECU control all the climate control? So could it be an ECU fault?!?!?!?!?

 

 

 

ANy help appreciated as the air con guy was a little confused as he doesnt work on these cars too much, lol.

Bump

There should be a small wire/connector running from the pump to the main wiring harness.

This connector switches the pump on/off, so make sure it's connected.

I can get the pump to run if i put an earth from the relay to earth. Would that still affect it?

Fixed the dodgy wires on the pressure switch plug and theres continuity through it, cause system pressure is there.

But now this keeps the pump on solid. even if suto button isnt on or econ is pressed it jsut stays on. Put temp right up, still stays on.

 

I have 12v permenantly on the coil so the relay is just on all the time, so for now I have taken that relay out as i dont want it running all the time.

 

I know the econ button is sending out a pulse but it isnt doing anything.

 

Got into the diagnositcs, but the info on ZDTT is for a 95 model, mines a 90 so it doesnt tally up.

 

Any more ideas as im stuggling now!!!
