Never had a turbo car with uprated boost before so a complete noob when it comes to controllers.

So far i am in the process of replacing the stock vacuum lines and installing some hard intake pipes also checking with a boost leak detector to make sure my pipe work is mint as possible. Also i have an aftermarket boost guage for hopefully accurate boost readings.Im also running standard tubs so 1.0 bar max is it?

Also i will giving the car a good service to prepare it for more boost.

what are my options-ive heard of boost jets, controllers etc

Whre do i start and what do i need?

What sort of money am i looking at to get started?

will something like this suffice

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HKS-EVC-5-Boost-controller_W0QQitemZ8076286735QQcategoryZ72205QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Is this the sort of thing i need-do i need anything else?

Cheers

well, there's loads of options...that electronic boost controller looks bloody complicated! you might have to get a specialist to install it and even then it would take about 5/6 hours!

boost jets are a little more unreliable but still a cheap and easy way to increase boost. before you do anything to the boost, check that all your coolant pipes are intact and running smoothly. check for any steam or water gushing noises in which case replace the coolant pipes and bleed any air out of your radiator!

also before you install anything boost controllers, you should get your car re-mapped to adapt the engine to suit the jets...here's a good link which tells you more about this...
