Featured Replies

sat still i think but if i fill it up before i go for a drive and after my drive leave it for an hour and check it will be lower

how many times has it done it mate ?

Is there any wetness inside the car by the centre under the dash where the transmission tunnel goes under the dash ?

no wetness mate does it pretty much everytime i check it

any white smoke mist coming out of exhausts ?

No sign of any water leaks anywhere ?

any white gunk on oil cap or on the dipstick

nah mate i checked could it be water pump because the water doesnt seem to be leaving expansion tank

I don't believe there is any way for the water to return to the system from the expansion tank.

If you top the water up and have it running can u see air bubbles in the water ?

If you give the car a gentle rev does the water go down in the rad ?

ill check brb

would it be easier if i call you lol

couple of bumbles but didnt take much topping up

bubbles i mean. when it was running after a min the level started to rise again

Might be a silly question but where are you filling it? you need to fill from the radiator cap and then open the bleed valve at the other side to bleed the air out.

yes i have filledit there

bump

Does it keep losing water until none can be seen in the top of the rad or does it drop a bit and stop there ?

The reason i ask is when i fitted a new uprated rad i was checking the levels every other day and it had dropped a bit , topped up and checked a few days later , same again , so i left it for a while and it dropped and stayed at a slightly lower level than trhe original rad , it wasn,t losing water it just seems to have a lower ..normal level .. for some reason , and has stayed there ever since

i had a similar problem after i fitted my new bottom pulley, put a new greddy rad cap on and all fixed.

yeh it just drops a bit but its a standard rad

hello?

how much coolant do you you have to add ?

if it's just a little bit everytime then your coolant system is just full and the small amount of coolant you add is blown back out to the expansion/overflow tank

small test: empty the overflow tank (or connect another small watertank to the overflow nipple on the radiator) and see if it contains coolant after you drive around for 30 minutes

PS: when you check the radiator level, make sure the engine is cold.

You should never fill it right the way up to the cap anyway as when the water gets hot a pressurises and it will bleed off into the coolant overflow anyway... The Z'eds natural water sitting position if you look is just below the top of the rad.. Squeeze the top or bottom rad pipe and you'll see that everything is fine!!!
