I wonder how dead the roads/beaches will be on Saturday?

Seems there's an England match on on Saturday afternoon. Due to my complete lack of interest in football and the weather looking amazing, I'm going to head out onto the road and find a quiet beach.

Wondering how quiet it really will be....it's a first match, so maybe it won't make a dent in the populous who want to enjoy the weather.

Anyone else thinking about doing the same?

the world cup is the greatest show on earth, its not about the football its about something bigger and better. Its about pride. In this case one of the few time I feel proud to be english. Today I saw cars flying the St George and the people driving it came from all walks of life and all sorts of cultures. Today we where 1 cuture, 1 society, 1 family.

English.

I dont see that when some car race is on TV. sory fellas, you go play, I'm gona stand here waving me ST George

not often i agree lol but spot on

once every 4 years, what wrong with a bit of pride, as for rugby not being the same, you obviously were in hibernation when england won the world cup?

some people must lead REALLY boring lives, hate christmas, hate kids, hate mods on cars, hates birds (or can't get one lol) ffs chill and stop worrying about what others are doing, do the flags on cars stop you sleeping at night?? or effect your life?

if it really gets to you that much just be glad you don't live in brazil or argentina etc, or columbia where they shoot people for losing

then some peoples HATRED of all these things, make you as eccentric as them :nelson:

It's not every 4 years. Football is in your face 24/7, it's just at world cup season it gets even worse.

Anyway, this thread wasn't about hating football really, it was being happy that it's on as every bugger is watching it leaving a nice big playground out there. :hyper:

Very quiet they were

I drove home from Cornwall (via Glastonbury incidentally - looked round the shops and lunched in the Abbey Tea Rooms) and most roads were deserted! It took a while for the reason to sink in though as I too can't stand football.

When we got home we took advantage of the game and did the Sainsburys run. Store was deserted too - fantastic for a Saturday afternoon :D

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
