Last weekend I finally managed to get the gearbox back in after replaceing my clutch with a OS Giken one. Due to me having little time to work on car I now have to put everything else back in position, but now have a stoopid problem - the clutch fork is stuck in the backwards (free) postion, I cannot even get the hydrolic cylinder back in position its that far back. If I try lever the fork backwards (towards the rear of car) it just bends? whats going on :wack: lol. anyone know!

cheers

Hi Paul

I think (pretty sure) there is a different release sleeve an os giken part required for this clutch, if you give RB motorsport a call they will be able to tell you tel 01704 822848 they are the uk importer for OS Giken

it should not make any differance,im pretty sure you have not sat it on the pivot ball properly,or its just sat on wrong,iv removed and fitted os giken, and replaced with other brands and there is no differance to the clutch fork, pivot ball, spring etc

you can upgrade the pivot ball infact smithy sells um but they are the same as oem except stronger

Cheers Greg, I replaced the pivot ball with one that I got of smithy, I know I have not done something correctly but it took me a few attempts to get the box back in the car by myself (I only can spend about 2hrs on my car at any one sitting). I did'nt really want to be takiing it out again to find it would'nt need to. I'm sulking now. lol

Paul

I dug out the OS Giken catalogue if your clutch is a TS2CD Racing twin plate clutch kit there is a clutch release movement alteration parts kit for that clutch. As Greg says though this may be the same as an oem release just with a OS part number

Now I am clueless, :p . Its just thet the fork seems to be in the correct postion inbetween the dust boot and therefore it has to be in the centre as the bearing is? so I would imagine its in the middle of the pivot ball, but I dont know?

I have asked if Andy Z knows anything as he was the one who sold me the clutch. Many thanks for your help ED.

Just a quick thought if you pull the rubber boot out of the way and shine a torch in there you may see something obvious.
