Currently I'm having the engine fully rebuilt. Just wondering what it would be worth really.

Considering putting it up for sale when I get it back.

For those that have seen it, they know that the car is in amazing condition....has some nice extras on it. 18" split rims, Vielside exhaust etc. Interior is unmarked and unworn.

It's also a manual TT version in pearl white....kinda rare.

Could I expect to get £4,000 for it?

I would like to think so ... I may put mine up for sale soon and that would be at £4.5 and no offers ...

yeh as long as its in good all round nick and yes with a newly built engine i recon poss even more?? 4.5k ish

I certainly reckon it would be worth that, particuarly with a properly rebuilt engine and running well. Main problem is finding a buyer though as they see all the ones going for 2.5k and think that they can get a good one for the same price. I don't think you should sell though as you've not had a chance to really enjoy it yet. If you are getting it rebuilt you may as well keep it for a year. A rebuilt engine that has been properly worn in and proven is going to be more saleable than a fresh one anyhow. Dave

depends on how quickly you want to sell, if you aint to bothered about a quick sale stick it up for £4500 no offers, if want rid quick, stick it up for £3995 ono

I think you need to take yourself into a corner and have a strong word with yourself Si!!! Don't sell it!!!!

As soon as you drive it again you will soon change your mind. I've thought of getting rid of mine in the past whilst out the country for long periods, but as soon as I drive it again I wonder what the hell I was thinking!!

And I'm back next week so cant wait to get driving again!!!

When do you think it will be back on the road???

Well the parts have all arrived. The spare engine is being stripped tonight...it's already been partially stripped. Need to take the crank and pistons out, check the bores which look pretty reasonable. Glaze bust the bores, measure the pistons for wear (only one has a slight bit of movement, but that could just be due to rings....have a few spare decent pistons). Replace rings and oil seal rings, clean and reface heads, refit cleaned tappets from old engine and reassemble.

Hopefully the engine should be back in once peice sometime next week and hopefully preperations can begin for refit for the week after.

I'm taking this opportunity to degrease, steam clean and polish up the engine bay, want to clean and detail the arches/suspension components.

Should look semi-concourse when back.

I will see how I feel when I get it back. Currently I hate the car although I do miss it. Probably because of the fact that the weather is so nice and I'm bored of using my Astra 24/7

Don't make any decisions while you're pissed off about things Si.

When you get the car back together and running sweet go and enjoy the fecking thing!

Then you'll remember why you wanted it so much in the first place.

ENJOY IT.

Best of luck with the build.

:p That is a very tidy zed for not a lot of money and i personally think whoever buys it will have a very NICE car.

I no how you feel i keep toying with idea of selling i genuinly cant make my mind up !

I taxed it today so this weekend should be fun at least.

Mines been in the garage since December sitting there un loved !

Is it worth it ?
