hi i have a fairlady z twin turbo auto. i've had a new engine put in, gearbox and the ecu. before the ecu was replaced the car began to rev up tp 2000rpm when in neutral or park and also when you was driving it just wouldn't change gear unless you push the hold button! place called PARTS PLAZA is the garage by the way.anyway they took the car back again. had some bloke come in and found the problem was the ecu! ecu was replaced i get the car all seems to be fine. but now after less then a month its back to exactly the same problems as before!!! help please!!

Sorry to hear that mate but it sounds like the same as mine but have not found out what is wrong with mine hope its not expensive as moneys quite tight as saving for holiday

Sounds like the usual problems associated with garages that can fit engines but have little or no idea how to set them up.

 

There are a few factors most of which are just settings that could cause the problem your having.

 

1) Incorrectly set TPS ( Hard idle )

2) Timing issues ( inconjunction with base idle)

3) Throttle inbalance

4) Base idle

5) idle control valve

 

All of which could cause the symptoms you have, the previously swapped ecu that cured the problem was more likely due to the resetting of the ecu, this is why the problem has now returned as the actual fault had not been dealt with.

yeah in the south east try Zen look in the traders section....near to horsham w.sussex...but you'll have to join the que...me first...:)
